Realistically, Ham was the right hire at the time. He was a known long-time assistant on a championship team. He looked like a guy who could be a "player whisperer" of sorts. He did do quite well in that respect IMO. He even handled the Westbrook situation fairly well. But it seems he is not able to envision a good offense for this team and he is constantly experimenting with the rotation, which shows he also does not have a clear idea who should play, how much, and why.... which, now that I think about it, is just a consequence of that "no offense" problem I mentioned above.

He has some good characteristics as a head coach, but maybe we needed people who are better offensive coordinators. I mean, whose idea was the 5-out offense anyway, and why? Finally, I am afraid that he is going to lose the locker room if we continue like this, basically nullifying his main strength. Maybe I'm wrong.... I hope I am.

@ LT..Meh..the point is that was 10 days ago, why is it news today? We've played 3 games since then. We've played 3 good teams. They won more frustrated, it seems. I'm curious as to how said folks are feeling, about those comments today? If Lebron and Rui were hitting their shots, we'd be 2-1. Panic mode is not imminent

Now ..Ham benched D'Angelo, because he was playing like lackadaisical s***. I don't see the problem with that either btw. D'Angelo needs to get his s*** together, like right now. It's on him.

We'll never agree on this Vogel thing.

The offense is clicking right now though. We've had 3 games under 115 pts out the Last 10. The 3pt shooting has picked up in our last 3. I'm not bailing out on this 5 thing yet, It has some potential.

OK, but what is the problem, Slick? Obviously, something is not quite right here.

You act like that number is significant in today's NBA.

27 teams average at least 110 ppg
    15 average 115 ppg

If you're not putting up AT LEAST 115, you're in the bottom half of the league.

We've dropped 6 our last 8 including a loss to the second worst team in the league.

BECAUSE those were probably your top 5 players with legitimate takes and frustration they were at this point not much trying to hide. And because Ham's done nothing to address any of it, instead he has doubled down with upheaval of the starting lineup since the comments were made and the NBA folks with good reps who cover the team and "most" fans here are seriously questioning WTF?? A new lineup that most everyone sees and feels in the long run because of both Vando and Cam's really poor shot mechanics .... can't "both" be on the floor as "starters" in the PLAYOFFs. (in certain situations SURE have at it). In the meantime what's left of any continuity from last season, blown all to H.

Is this yet another hill you want to play devil's advocate extraordinaire to fail on? That this starting lineup is going to be "it" still a month from now, let alone into the playoffs? And "work" in the playoffs? It's a bad move and will have to be changed, AGAIN, at some point. As well, as JSM pointed out it ALSO even changes our whole defensive scheme with the switch everything and we find AD pulled away from the basket more, and even more upheaval and its negative effect on the continuity that was expected to finally be a big plus for us this year. More experimentation with next to zero reasonable hope of these changes sticking. IMO.

Ok...Well we actually ave 117 pts over these last 8 games. That's good for 8th in the league, I'm still not convinced that offense is the problem.

Ham is very lucky that all the teams ahead of us (Kings, Mavs, Pelicans, Rockets) all keep losing....keeping us within striking distance.

Either way - we're very clearly in the 2nd tier...the 1st tier is Minny, Denver, OKC. 2nd tier is basically 4th-11th seeded teams...Clippers, Kings, Mavs, Pelicans, Rockets, Lakers, Suns, and Warriors. We really just need one mini-surge...a quick 4-6 game win streak, and then another 4-6 game win streak, and we vault up to 4th seed.

It’ll be interesting to see if a few practices helps this new NBA 2K24 starting lineup. Just have my concerns over whether this is sustainable long term.

They need Austin who is now an overall BOTH sides of the ball better player and more consistent scorer than DLO back in the starting lineup. 3rd best player on the team for crissakes. Plus he’s legit almost 2” taller than DLO. IMO you have to keep Prince there as well. Overall he is playing very good basketball currently, a real threat from deep at his promised 40% now with volume, plays hard on D and can “somewhat” put the ball on the floor and get to the rim for a score or dish and make a play for someone else. Sometimes he gets a bit too frisky in the latter 2 regards and turns it over but that’s overall far better than being a one trick pony from deep only on offense, and he has good wing size.

So that leaves a choice between Vando and Cam to stay in the starting lineup as the best “quick” wing or POA defender. That’s something I wouldn’t mind seeing the nod go to whoever’s healthiest and getting that defensive job done best. On O Cam’s got the edge with a 3 shot that goes in a bit more often PLUS he can put the ball on the floor some and get to the rim to actually score better than Vando. If Vando’s not hampered speed wise by the heel he does a couple non offense things better than Cam with his rebounding and playing the passing lanes.

Those two guys who don’t have to depend on continuity and consistent minutes as much for their effort and willingness to sell out on D, as players typically do on offense with their shooting percentages, ought to be able to be tag teamed in and out of the starting slot as mentioned above per who is performing the best. And give Rui more minutes!!!

Sucks for DLO if he stays on the bench but “maybe” if he gets his head right, he can take advantage of it to score more as Austin had against the generally lesser competition.

I think your comment actually just made me realize how badly I hate this new starting lineup… because I actually would HATE to even use this lineup in NBA 2k!

we very intentionally invested about 30 million in the pg spot this offseason, then decided at game 28 or so that lebron (or AD!) can play the position just fine. nope.

D'Angelo deserved to be benched, it's on him to earn his spot back. Ham was letting him slide for too long with his lackadaisical effort, on way too many nights. If he doesn't earn his spot back, he's going to be moved, these next 3 or 4 weeks will determine his fate here.

Austin is playing more minutes now, than he did in his previous two seasons. He was struggling playing over 30 min a game, before he went to the bench. Perhaps he's more efficient at around 30min?

Too bad about Gabe, but we gotta play on. I disagree with the notion of, just gifting D'Angelo his starting role back, due to Gabe's situation. So we'll just have to see how it plays out. I don't expect Vanderbilt and Reddish, to play together for more than 20min or so a night. I don't think, this is some kind of huge issue at all.

Sorry but I don't agree here. Taurean Prince hasn't proven that he should start and play 31mpg and yet he has the longest leash and wasn't even on our team last year.

DLO wasn't playing well but I didn't think he deserved to lose his spot and only play 18mpg as a result. This was a panic move from our coach and not only did he panic and put the wrong starting lineup out there...he compounded it by playing DLO wayyyy less minutes AND Reaves under 30mpg as well...because...well, who f***ing knows.

If DLO is going to the bench...it shouldn't be to play less than 20mpg. He is optimal at 25-30mpg, and Reaves should bein the 30-35 mpg range...NOT f***IN TAUREAN PRINCE!

He deserves to sit until his coach feels like he's earned his playing time restored. Prince is not the problem, and he definitely wasn't the problem against Boston. Russell has not earned the right to loaf, and still keep his spot. His playoffs performance wasn't that good.

Yeah. I think we assumed Vincent could take over for DLO if he struggled and that ship has sailed.

I think Cam has overachieved but Reaves or DLO should be starting based on the current roster IMO.

With an average coach, this team has at least five more wins thus far.
Hamster was given a BETTER version of last year’s post Brick trade and has been awful.
Still running an offense that doesn’t fit its players.
    Still wacky rotations.
Still can’t get any combo of players to come out with fire at the start of every game.
