Yeah plus most teams would rather get Reaves as a centerpiece in a trade

There's not many out there, but my hope would be to get something passable in that department, shore up other needs and consolidate in the process --
-steadier 3rd option, one who can play in the 4th Q.
-a move that slots our wings into logical minutes. Recall how we had to move on from Avery Bradley to protect Vogel from himself? That might be the case with TP.
-a backup center, instead of two third string centers.

A lot of this also depends on Vincent. What can he handle? The more he can do, the less coverage you need in a returning PG.

Looking around the teams who aren't serious threats this year and some guys who could be obtainable...
    - Nets: Dinwiddie, Claxton, Lonnie, O'Neale.
The first two are in their final years and there's uncertainty in their futures in Brooklyn.
    - Bulls: we know what's there LaVine (yuck), DD, AC. Big Pelican
    - Detroit: they have stuff but can't find a mix of value that warrants a trade. Maybe as a 3rd team that gives us a guy.
    - Blazers: Brogdon and Grant
    - Wiz: Kuz, Ty Jones, Gafford, Gallo, Kispert.
Kuz has been linked to us, Ty would be a great slot in PG but to get both, we'd have to have a 3rd team because I don't see Rui going back to Washington.

I think the only move where we don't get fleeced would be Brogdon. He's an overall upgrade from Dlo but he's injury prone. Historically he's a better defender and shoots better from 3 but on lower volume. Maybe we can get Grant in the deal if the Blazers want out of his contract. Of course Rui and other salary ballast would need to be added.

Any time a tanking/ rebuilding team says they're fine paying a vet on their roster a lot of money I'm skeptical. Sure. Coach might feel that way. GM might feel that way. But ownership is another matter entirely. I don't care how deep their pockets are, Portland is a small market currently without a star. They're just postering.

Something tells me if we trade for Grant, he'll shoot like 30% from 3.

yeah, i don't really like anything here.

dinwiddie was a guy i said i would s&t dlo for, but dlo is better, cheaper, and younger.

i like sharpe as a stronger center, so maybe we could get him and throw hayes or wood in there. salaries work. not sure if we actually come out better, though.

He can go now, he’s already acting like he knows he’s as good as traded. I guess there’s a reason he’s been on 4 different teams in 8 years and gets traded every other season. He’ll never win anything anywhere, doesn’t have the desire.

Sucks cuz I think we'll end up trading him for something stupid that doesn't actually help us....but yeah nights like tonight make it easier to let DLO go actually.

yeah, as my other posts indicate, i think there's significant risk we move dlo and end up worse for it--even granting that games like this are indeed brutal.

I’ve been a huge DLo supporter, but my goodness he’s making it hard to defend him lately.

I think what's most frustrating with DLO is he has the offensive bag of a perennial all-star. When he's on, he's truly impressive. But his mental is Ben Simmons-esque. I think he's so far in his head right now with his play and the rumors, that the only way to fix his vibes is to move him.

He can't defend and can't play in the 4th, if he's not scoring and his facilitating has taken a dip then what's the point? Might as well pick John Wall off the street for the min.

    He needs to be moved.

Hope he balls out with Lebron out so Bron can lay off of him. You can tell Bron's disdain for him is affecting him.
