What a great story! Having both Cam AND Vando on this team has made the biggest difference in our ability to compete with the best teams. I will be bummed if we can’t bring Reddish back this summer, but we have a whole lotta games left to enjoy him this year.
I believe he won't forget. He's been very vocal about how much he's loved it here and how he's been embraced. This is really the perfect landing spot for him - we just need to make him a good backloaded contract. He's only 24. He could emerge as one of the best wing defenders in the entire league with the role he is playing for us. I think he will stay. This is not a Monk situation IMO. I could be wrong but I think he values what he has found here.
Unbelievable game from him on BOTH ends. To slow down one of the best players in the league and ARGUABLY the hottest player in the league...at thsi stage...when the Pacers were REALLY GUNNING for it...it says a lot about Cam. Everyone is praising him up and down. Amazing man...I could not have been MORE wrong about Cam and what he's brought to this team!!!
Really need him to stay off the radar of any NBA defensive teams this year. We don't need that kind of additional national attention on him. After we can lock him up, he can make all the teams... just not now.
On opening night I was mad he was even in the rotation, less than two months later I'm yelling for him to get back in the game to hold off the Pacers run in the second half lol. Can't say enough about him buying in and making himself indispensable.
I literally thought Cam was going to be the biggest bust of a signing and that we were going to be calling for more minutes for Max Christie instead. Boy oh boy...were we all wrong on this or what?! I can't wait to see him against Luka/Kyrie tomorrow...we didn't have him or Vando last time we played the Mavs. Let's put Luka/Kyrie in HELL tomorrow
Kyrie looked from his teammate falling full force on his lower leg and foot bruising his heel like that might keep him out, but Cam and Vando regardless can sure tag team Luka.
partially wrong--max did and does deserve minutes, imo. and cam looked like crap in the preseason. the apology is probably more for the coaching staff and them seeing stuff we didn't and feeling confident in cam. kyrie's out, i think. so cam and vando guard doncic as best they can in isolation, and we stay home against the rest of the team. even if luka goes off, he'll have to work, and i think we can score on them.
Bingo. If kyrie is out, do NOT double off of your man to help on Luka. We shoudl be able to contain him with some combo of Reddish/Vando and of course AD stopping his drives. If we start doubling off of others to help on Luka, we'll be in trouble.
Cam should not be just getting just 24 minutes a game. Like WTF is going on, he was the key player in the IST outside the big 3 and he doesn't play in the 4th last night and just 24 minutes tonight?
I think it's injury related. After one offensive play, he was stomping around and didn't look right. Ham has been good about playing him and nothing has changed, I think it's an undisclosed flair up that he's working through.
There were 2 straight games earlier this year where the Lakers scored and Cam acted like he was getting back on D, but suddenly made a defensive play in the backcourt that led to Laker points. Stunning defense!
For any of you who've played competitive basketball, how do players practice defense? Are there drills they do? Is it film? Is this kind of skill learned or instinctual? I'm geniunely curious.
