He's moving well, very encouraging. We can definitely use some depth at the 1. Please play him strictly off the bench, NOT with Dlo, in limited minutes at first.
Both PGs are, which is why it made sense to split then evenly for the 48. Then Gabe went and suffered the ole former Heat is now a Laker injury. At the very least it should give us a chance to see what we've got before deciding how necessary a PG trade is. Ham spoke about the progress
Don't think he's needed...he'll mess up the current rotations. With Reaves off the bench and the emergence of Reddish/Max/Vando, there's literally no room for Vincent at this point. Def think the only way he should play is if Reaves or DLO get injured...he's our insurance there.
we need another ballhandler so we need him back. Just don't play him and Dlo at the same time please.
I'm worried about him returning and messing up our rotations...I feel like Ham is going to go "small" and Christie/Hayes minutes will get soaked up by Gabe and we're going to see stupid 3-guard lineups in spite of having Vando/Rui/Reddish/Prince.
Come on guys …. I think we’re kidding here but not sure? It’s been out there, I know I was one at least to post the specifics of what he and the staff were dealing with. Now he’s close to having worked back from it and we’re still making fun of him or the situation? Not talking about rotations and Ham’s fetish for the guards when we now have awesome wing defenders.
I think he’ll fit well as what he’s supposed to be - a backup point guard. Work him in alongside Reaves to bring up the ball. Just have him eat up minutes off the bench in that role.
bring him along slowly. max has been playing well in his minutes, and the christie/reaves back court has been ok against second units, as most teams don't play two ball hounds at once.
So I guess he's taking some combination of Max Christie/Cam Reddish/Taurean Prince minutes when he returns? I think IF you're going to play him...it should be 15-20 mins MAX. Anything above that and it's too much. Ham was playing this man like 35 minutes a night...good lord that was WAY too much of Gabe Vincent!
definitely. he shouldn't play 30 minutes unless we have an injury in the backcourt or dlo is pulling one of his disappearing acts.
I agree. He was playing too much of Gabe Vincent and too much of Prince. But now we can scale back some guys' minutes. More than anything I'm just happy to have the team healthy. I'd like to see more blowouts, more opportunities to sit Lebron and AD, and just for us to start stacking up some wins in a row with all this talent. We've got a bunch of good, versatile players. When Vincent comes back we will be 12 deep including Wood and Hayes. Better to have these players fighting for minutes than not.
It's hard to say at this point, the guy only played in 4 games. We signed him to a double digit contract, for multiple seasons though. He's going to get some burn, it wasn't long ago, when some folks were complaining about missing Dennis. Having a pesky little ball handler, that can knock down a few jumpers, is a good thing to have on your squad too.
to be fair, that was instead of gabe, right? again, i think the vision was that gabe was a playoff performer/closer type and insurance for dlo. still a long way to go before we know if that works. i agree with jones that i didn't envision prince and gabe playing as many minutes as they did early on. interestingly, both guys had to sit with wear-and-tear type knee injuries, too, so maybe nobody was expecting it!
