    it was bad.

feel like both pgs (especially ones that aren't score-first pgs) and centers usually take some time. there are exceptions, obviously, but generally speaking, i don't expect people drafted at those positions to show up ready to play. especially young guys (as opposed to seniors). it's part of why lively has surprised me this year in dallas.

He is really really raw on offense: game turned upside down when he came in and OKC went to zone.
    Crashed and burned; rough showing

If we were healthy, he wouldn't have logged a single NBA minute this year. I think the plan was to essentially red shirt freshman him.

We're not, so here we are.

He sucks. Waste of a pick man - I'd rather have Cam Whitmore even though he hasn't played a single minute for the upstart Rockets.

This is one of the rare times the Lakers scouting COMPLETELY missed. I think this guy is actually a scrub - will not be in the NBA in a few years

Needs to be GLUED to the f***ing bench.

I think it’s my fault @LTLakerFan that our rookie is struggling, from now on I’ll be Pollyanna like you with all our players, only positive thoughts.

Let’s go JHS! Just need more blowouts to show your skills

See, that’s all I was asking for. Nothing spectacular- just a glimpse.

Because Whitmore by all accounts looks so much better than our rookie who I promise to support no matter what @LTLakerFan

Better athlete, better shooter, younger and just looks like a more complete basketball player than JHS. Cam just doesn’t pass is the problem.

I’m ok with not getting Jacquez, he’s older than JHS. Some team will always get a steal of the draft and Miami has been killing it with their scouting ever since. Although it would have been nice to have a sexy Latin guy for diversity purposes :LLLLLebronlaughing:

lively, wallace, hawkins--i think all of them were guys we would have snatched up immediately at 17. none were there.

what's the deal with jacquez? this is the second time i've had to point out that his overall stats are mediocre to bad. he's getting a consistent opportunity from the guy who is probably the best coach in basketball and has made elder rookies like kendrick nunn look competent before spending the rest of their lives playing in turkey.

and blaming a road loss on the second night of a b2b on a rookie playing his first meaningful nba minutes is sorta nuts, imo. he's not supposed to bust that zone by himself. we pay lots of guys (e.g., wood, prince, reaves, every other underperforming vet on the team) to do that.

it was quiet when he hit 2 threes in his first six nba minutes, which is twice as many as cam whitmore has hit. maybe we should wait beyond the 40 minute mark of his career to make judgments.

I posted the same “He sucks” up above your post and deleted it because I was just pissed about the game but it is true.

Edit:Stop being the voice of reason @abeer3. We need someone to blame and JHS is as good as anyone.

I’m a big JHS supporter but let’s just trade all our 1st round picks from now on

lol, he's like, the last guy we need to blame for losing at okc on the second night of a back to back. i'd go:

    1. nba schedulers
    2. okc for playing really well to start the year
    3. the clippers for giving okc SGA

i'm actually totally good with trading mid-firsts. most players drafted there don't pan out. i think we tried to trade this pick and couldn't find a taker. for a reason.

this is why i laugh at all the fans/media drooling over teams hoarding lotto-protected picks. their value is illusory, speculative. they're the crypto of the nba market.

Yeah. I'm skeptical of how well anything any Miami player does will translate to other teams outside of Butler and Bam.
