Those two can also learn some things about running the offense through the center position. The kid gets it. The offense is actually organized when he’s out there with the third unit. Compare that to the mindless chaos of the second squad with Hayes and Wood turning the ball over trying to make plays. That hurt my eyes.
Other than AD, Colin is our best center. Been obvious for awhile and getting more so. Christian and Jaxson can do some things but Colin is a complete player. Start using him now and have him ready for the playoffs. C'mon coach, you can do it...lol.
aside from the nice plays from the titular character, jhs had a couple very nice passes in these highlights (eat it, vegan haters). with hayes out and AD hobbled, we should definitely give him some real game minutes.
Ham, “Yo LeBron you ready for a lot of 5 tonight? Too early to stick Rui into that 1st night back. You know I ain’t playing no steenking rookie!”
Brutal. Not ready for real NBA minutes, no matter the wishful thinking. As advertised: He's a 4th string C who needs the reps in d-league, to live in the weight room and to build some kind of chest muscles.
If you judged players on this messy game that would be true of almost everyone. He needs minutes, not knee jerk panic reactions off of emotions. The coach would be fired as well.
Here's the thing though, with this roster, the expectations and the depth (when healthy), you HAVE to be ready. The "stay ready" groups have to be just that... ready. Their time isn't going to be consistent or predictable. If they want to break in, they have to show something when there's the opportunity. If they don't, who knows when that next chance will come. We're not in a position to give him or Max minutes when they're not deserving or not ready, we're trying to win a 'ship, we're not OKC and can't run the development cycle on spin and repeat until something churns out. Our best player is in his 21st season and father time is lurking in the shadows.
I get it, but no one is deserving at this point. Lackluster play, don't give a crap attitudes. AD has been saving our butts and this illustrates it. Austin, DLO, LeBron, Christian sucked. To expect players that sit on the bench almost all the time, with very little practice and with all the travel to just come in and be ready, to me just isn't realistic. Give them at least a decent chance and then we can banish them if they fail. Coach Ham has lost the team if he ever had it. You know ball as good as anyone here. Ham is a disaster.
And do what Toklat? Bench D'Angelo or Austin for Max? Not going to happen, he hasn't shown enough to even slightly consider such a thing. The issue with Colin is that he's a lot like Thomas Bryant...players get into his chest too easily, and he's an easy bucket in the paint. He had that issue in the summer league. Other than that, he's a decent prospect.
He needs to play. I'd be starting him in the G League and getting him as many reps as is possible. He should be a solid backup big eventually.
This is where the extremists all ways get bent out of shape. You don't have to bench anyone to give a guy a few minutes here or there so if he is needed he can somewhat be ready. Doesn't always have to be all one way or the other. Coaches get paid to have guys ready. There have been times we were short handed and prudent to get Max a few minutes. Fans look at the here and now and spout off not really seeing the big picture, coaches need to look down the road as well.
No..it's your Max perspective, that has been pretty extreme. I haven't seen anything from Max yet, to justify him playing any more than he's played already. You are ignoring the here and now, for what you hope, the big picture looks like down the road.
You have that just a little twisted and drawkcab...lol. It is preparing for the here and now. Prepare players for when there are injuries that happen every season before they are needed not after. I mean this all very amicably...lol.
Ok..so you are saying that every player on the team, should at least get a few minutes, here and there, to be prepared for the eventual injuries. Check
No, you got to be smarter than that man. You get the players ready that might have to play. As you illustrate with your all or nothing thinking there is a big difference between being a fan and overreacting emotionally all the time vs a coach thinking ahead and seeing the big picture.
Nah..I'm trying to work with you here. WHY exactly should Max be playing, instead of Cam or Prince? What exactly makes him, getting more minutes, more critical than those guys? I'm talking from the coaches standpoint here, maybe Ham feels like those guys, are more important to the team's success than Max . Toklat the fan, disagrees with the coach. That's all that I'm see here in this conversation. There are only so many minutes available, when someone plays more, someone else is sitting more. So why bump Max up?
