I don't know why D'Angelo hasn't developed a decent floater, at this point in his career. He doesn't have the springs to finish strong at the rim, but he has good touch and long arms. He bails out, and throws up way too many, wild shot attempts, when he gets into the lane.

A decent off the glass, or rim floater, would do wonders for his game. (Calling Phil Handy?)

Your ceiling as a team is affected by DLO. At the highest levels he gets exposed. Can he change that ? I’m having doubts.

I absolutely hate it when he shoots a JUMPSHOT to draw a foul.

Does this ever work? When it inevitably doesn't work, it puts the defense in such a bad position. Man I miss having Schroeder.

1000% but I'm not willing to pay 2x DLO's salary (for 3 years) for that or give up additional talent and potentially a draft pick.

Not to mention Kyrie is a quack. He could retire tomorrow to pursue a career as a documentary film maker in the effort to uncover the earth is flat, we didn't land on the moon, who was really on the grassy knoll, and where Elvis is hiding and I wouldn't even blink. It wouldn't be at all surprising.

I'm willing to move DLO (and parts) at the deadline, but not for that.

Idk man...Kyrie hasn't had any episodes since he was in Brooklyn. He got his money now, so I'm not sure that he wants to retire anytime soon. One thing that let's me know, that he's becoming more responsible with making these wild irrational statements, is his total lack of silence, on this current Israeli/Palestinian conflict. He's had plenty of opportunities to stick his foot in his mouth. He's demurred on jumping into that conversation.

I mean look...Dennis Rodman was a certified fruitcake, nut job, (Who takes off from a playoff series, in order to go party in Vegas?) but he has a fistful of Championship rings though.

Basketball wise..he's worth twice D'Angelo's salary IMO. He's a significantly higher level player. However..you make a solid point...the cost is the issue. It would take D'Angelo, Rui and another player just to match salaries. This is a reason that I hoped we'd pay D'Angelo more cash, so if we traded him, we could a higher level talent back. I seriously don't think that we can afford to make that trade now. We should have pulled the trigger while he was in Brooklyn.

The PG I was willing to trade Dlo and Rui for is on the C Bags right now. Such a bummer. I would have loved to have Jrue and his superb D and clutch play here. Ah well.

honestly, the issue with kyrie is as much physical as mental. he misses time for both reasons, like clockwork.

that said, if we keep looking like we have so far, i'd consider moving dlo/gabe/rui for kyrie/exum or curry, presuming kyrie wasn't injured long-term at that point.

still like to think dlo will normalize, as will our play once we get a fairly standard rotation in place and rolling.

would have been great, but wasn't possible.

That was a questionable ejection to me but I felt like he should’ve kept his cool given how short handed we were tonight.

That's a really quick whistle on someone who does not have a bad reputation.

Nice job stat padding in the 3rd after this thing was over so you don't get called out from the box score watchers.

If you play like that in the 1st, maybe this is an actual competitive game.

Jesus did the Rockets pick on him in the PnR. That was ugly with Wood as the big behind him

Good line in minutes that are more in line with where he should be (drop it a few more when Gabe returns).

He abused Senator Allen early on, wished we would've went back to that matchup later on.

No minutes in 4th are ... some Prince minutes could have easily be sent DLO way... A breezer for AR would also be fine.

Just simply not playing him at all in 4th, and not for the first time, isn't going to help his confidence.

With that said, some boxing out would have helped.

I agree that completely icing him out 4th quarter minutes after a productive game isn’t ideal for his confidence, but man in the moment I would have been pretty concerned if I saw DLo about to check back in in the middle of the 4th after we came back on the strength of our defense and AR’s play.

But what I love most about DLo last night is that he didn’t seem to let the lack of 4th quarter minutes affect him. He remains engaged on the sidelines and is one of the biggest cheerleaders for his teammates
