glad we've got someone besides AD who's paying attention to defensive rebounding.

He really fits well. Doing everything we need him to do, but I am pretty sure he can be even better. Give him 10 games or so.

He's being really great. Plays unemotionally for some reason but has really committed to what the team needs for him, defense and rebounding. Hope he continues to be rewarded for minutes because he and AD together are a problem
    Kudos to him

So... where's the catch? Contract year, in essence?

Either that or a simply good fit with AD. They should play together as much as possible.

He really is. I want him to start at this point. I liked the chemistry he and Lebron were showing last night too.

CW brings exactly what we need. His three point shot will be back soon. Of all the great things he is doing the most important in my opinion is he unlocks AD to be AD. Christian will get the rebound of the misses AD causes. Before if AD went after a shot he had better get it or it was a dunk. Now he can make shots tough and we got a clean up guy. That clean up guy is important. Plus AD can say I told you I was a four...lol.

The catch is that although he’s been great… we still have an incredibly small sample size lol.

As one of the most vocal advocates for signing Wood on this forum, I’m not ready to take any victory laps yet lol. I recall Mavs fans loving him in the first month.

Gotta see whether he has the mental fortitude to sustain his effort in doing the little things, how he deals with adversity, whether he has plateaued or if he has the basketball IQ to continue evolving alongside Lebron/AD to become even more productive, etc

100% this. For everything around the roster to be honest

Lebron likes that action off of Wood, when he fans out behind the arc, on the right perimeter. It opens up the lane for his drives, he's been working that action for the last 3 games. Wood does the same thing for AD, when he's out around the top of the key.

If he can consistently knock down some open 3's, it gives us a dimension, that we didn't have last season.

He’s tall. He’s been slightly above avg all things considered in his limited PT thus far; including shooting 50%+ from the field, plus rebounding well.

If i were to knock anything, it’s he’s a little clumsy and slow to his moves/reaction overall, which might be related to height bc AD is sometimes like this as well in certain situations.

Edit: uncoordinated is the word I was looking for.

I hope he can keep up the good play for the long haul!

Only 4 games in, but I gotta admit he’s proving me wrong so far. Not a head case, and giving effort on D.

Please keep it up Wood. Make me eat my words

    Good "pass" by Cam

Huge block and put back. Really put his mark on the game. Continued to be impressed with his unprecedented play.

I never understood watching him why Dallas didn't use him more and I still don't get it.
I mean he's actually a good defender like an actual plus defender if he's used more as POA and as rim protection. He's going to get lost off the ball but use him the right way he's a very good 2 way player particularly because of the rebounding.

He gets a lot of 50-50 balls and will battle plus look at the skillset: he's a good passer, he can shoot, he'll kill small guys in the post, and I really don't see signs of selfish play

Wood with the exclamation! He has continued to play well. Although, i really do prefer Hayes due to quickness and elite dunking/blocking ability. But i get it, Hayes doesn’t spread the floor.

Keep doing what you’re doing C Wood!
