It is pretty obvious and if it isn't a wake up call to guys like him, then they are just low IQ players without much of a future in this league. Respond!! Period!!
Maybe he'll start going "Dwight Howard" on guys in the paint. Wait a minute, that USED to mean something very different.
For better or worse, he's a black hole. Ball touches his hands and it is tunnel vision. Biggest problem with this is it makes him incredibly predictable and easy to defend. Tonight he was fine. Ham really has to be smart with how he deploys him, especially while he's working himself into shape/rhythm.
You can't play Wood with Hayes - it simply doesn't work Ham gonna need to stagger WOOD with either AD or LeBron...or with Rui. Or he has to make the tough decision and sit him on nights where the match-up doesn't make sense.
Big time contributer tonight. That green light offensively needs to be demoted to yellow. Bad decisions on the 3s and then settling for a long J over Allen instead of punishing him closer to the rim. BUT huge on the glass, we were getting murdered on the rebounds before he got involved. He actually bothered KD on D with his length, didn't think I'd live to see that. Keep it going.
Wood should have been at 30+mpg tonight and this game wouldn't have been close. He had a good 1st half and than Ham went small in the 3rd for no reason. He's going to take all of Rui's minutes if he can get the 3 to fall because he actually does a good job on the glass and at least will try to protect the rim. The jumper is the only thing missing from what I though he could bring.
He’s doing all the little things people were saying he doesn’t do. Fighting on the boards, putting in a lot of effort defensively, seemingly not caring about not getting too many touches offensively. Hope he can sustain this for the long term and it’s not just a flash in the pan because he has all these critiques about him fresh in his mind. Because man that defense was legitimately pretty great. Him and AD together actually has a lot of potential. He’s not a defensive anchor, but when he has the best defensive anchor in the league behind him he can be disruptive with his length and seems to have relatively quick feet for a big man
BIG time game from Wood. Very impressed with his rebounding and DEFENSE against KD! As much as I like hayes...I think you gotta give Wood all of those backup C minutes and stagger him with either LeBron or AD...or as I suggeste4d before, put him and Rui in together
