    it’s the Laker lights.

Who will be surprised when he lights it up with his next team and burns us for 30+ when we play against him?

I'd still like to keep Beasley at Vet Min if possible.

still think bringing beasley back on more than a vet min is a good move. that or s&t. squeeze something out of these bird rights. it's best for him, too. worst case, he gets traded later and the team that gets him has his bird rights with a low cap hold. he shouldn't want to sign elsewhere until we tell him no.

Yes. Sign and Trade for a Big Please! We currently have enough talent at the 1,2,3, and 4. We desperately need at least one more Center who has muscle.

Lol..I remember when the story around here was, that Malik brought soo much gravity, that he didn't even need to hit shots. Meh

Pippen JR is on the summer league roster, could be a clue that Beasley is gone

I would've brought him back (or Lonnie) + a big, but it seems like we want to keep that roster spot open which means the end for Beasley with us.

Wasn’t particularly enamoured with him while he was here to be honest.

I feel like a version of that questions can be asked about nearly every move in the NBA. So much goes into cap management, fit, contract length, average age of the team, if the team is in a position to develop vs win now, etc.

I wasn't particularly wowed with several of our players, but they all had moments. All you need is one guy on a team with influence to think he can make those moments last or be more frequent, and then BAM!, a ridiculous contract is handed out. I don't fee like we gave any absurd contracts away to guys who haven't proven what they can do. The exception may be Maxwell since we paid 4+mil for the pick. That was a calculated risk by the best drafting team in the business though, so they have earned the right to make that call IMHO.

i still think he could fetch something in a s&t. teams are still paying for shooting. seth curry went for bae, so i don't see why beasley can't ask the same.

maybe there's not a team with an extra big making 5-7 million that needs shooting, though.

if not, i think we could just keep him as salary ballast and/or injury insurance, and i don't know that ham would be under pressure to play him, tbh.

If Rob builds a winner and is out of the luxury tax and repeater tax status, that’s pretty incredible

I'd see if Jalen Smith got edged out of Indy's rotation after the draft and Toppin.

Then there's always McGee. I don't like that contract or that Kidd couldn't use him. Maybe if we get draft compensation from them. McGee does address the big man mentor for Jaxon though. Jaxon is a lot like a young McGee, so he's very qualified to show him the ropes.

yeah, that clearly seems to be plan A, and it's a neat trick if he pulls it off. but i'm not sure it's the thing that puts us in the best position for success. i suppose that as the repeater tax starts to carry actual non-financial penalties, one could argue it might be worth it.

ooh, good one. especially if they move hield and don't get a shooter back.

i thought of mcgee, too, but i'd need something good to eat the extra year on that deal. not sure 2 2nds is good enough.

Yeah, I’m not sold on this kid. He really needs to take big leaps in his shooting ability. He’s just so small for the NBA. The only mini-mouse guys who last come with both exceptional passing and/or shooting skill.

Meh … you are definitely not one to talk about dead certain solid BAD takes defended until proven wrong and then move the goalposts. And no I’m not going to elaborate. Already went on way too long with all of them. They were well known around here.

But hey it’s a new season with a great looking roster knowing we have Handy to polish the guys that def need it. Need to hopefully land a respectable bench big with something in his back pocket.
