reserving judgment til i see the ripple effects. initially i don't love it because it means dumping either a great fit or a better talent.
It’s hard for me to judge a player like this on stats alone, the same as I wouldn’t Austin Reaves, he’s that type of player to me, an absolute gamer. There were better players available, but sometimes you can only get one interested. I don’t think it’s an amazing signing, but I like him, to me he’s a bit better of a passer than Dennis, so that’s something.
he's got a rep as a good POA defender, but advanced stats don't love him on d. that said, advanced stats like him more than DS. i just think the ham/DS connection had some value, and i liked that DS showed up bigger under brighter lights. i'm one of the people who was definitely disappointed with DS's late game decision making, though, and i think vincent has the edge there. again, i need to see what else we do. in a vacuum, vincent's worth his salary.
Yeah I feel like the people who are very strongly against this move may not have actually ever seen him play and only looking at his stats. Seems like the general sentiment amongst the media and fans of other teams is that this was a very good move for us.
In Game 3 of the 2023 Eastern Conference Finals, Vincent scored a playoff career high of 29 points in a 128–102 win to give the Heat a 3–0 lead over the Boston C Bags The Heat eventually advanced to the NBA Finals after winning the series in seven games. In Game 2 of the 2023 NBA Finals, Vincent had a team-high 23 points in a 111–108 win over the Denver Nuggets to tie the series 1-1. Maybe he can be like mini D-Fish
Fisher is honestly who he reminds me of, not a big stat player, but a gamer. They’re also the same height.
As many others, because of our needs and stuff like that I was a bit on the fence with this one. But the guy was tough during the POs and he was definitely the kind of player I like. He has to be hard worker to get to where he is now in comparison to how he came into the league, and while it obviously had to do with Jimmy's influence, everyone on that Heat team answered the called when it mattered most (they really had no business in the Finals, but they definitely earned it). His regular season history is unimpressive, but they asked him to take an important role during the Playoffs and he took it. I think do think he can be a nice player here, even though I'm not sure if he's actually going to manage to be a long term starter. I do think he will be the kind of guy that's easy to root for. And considering what Toronto paid for Schroeder, I think our only other option was getting a downgrade at the position. He still has a lot to prove, so hopefully he will. And I do think this is a big chance for him.
He plays very hard and makes good decisions. Very easy to root for, but I will reserve my judgement until I see how he fits with the rest of the team. Potentially very good.
He's a good shooter as well. Shot better then DS with a harder shot selection. I think bottom line this is what it comes down to. You get what DS brings in terms of defense and dirty work but the spacing will be better I think they keep DLo and Reaves and you'll backup with Vincent, Christie. Harder team to defend next year.
This man is a dawg! Culture guy, definitely fits Ham philosophy. Good defense and shooting. He slots great with LeBron and Reaves
A midget who can't defend and won't be as good as he was offensively in a non Heat environment . Hopefully I will be wrong but it's a bad signing imo
