"To Lonnie, keep building! All love! Will never forgive you for Game 4...!" - Steph Curry to LWIV. SF Gate article on it.
i think curry's a legit good dude, and it's why gs has been so successful. it's not just his talent; it's the character. he's cut from the tim duncan/dirk nowitzki cloth, imo.
not sure i'd take him for beasley and bamba at this point. curious to see if walker keeps his spot against denver. i'm guessing yes, but it's a new series, and we might opt for more size over quickness on the perimeter.
we can give him a 120% raise on his previous salary, which is more than the tpmle. i think whether we keep him comes down to what happens with beasley's contract. if beasley is just cut, we can easily keep walker, imo. if not, the numbers get tougher for jeanie (not me).
I’d probably bring him back with the slight raise too over Beas. I like Beas but $16 million is a lot more than what it would take to probably retain Walker.
Hollinger's BOARD$ valuation has him as a min player, ranked as the 21st available FA SG this summer. Hollinger disagrees with the data.
If we can’t retain Dennis reasonably priced I’d hope they would look elsewhere for that spot and retain Lonnie. I’d really like to see him back. He’s got a taller ceiling than where he is now which is quite good and explosive at times. He was also moving laterally quicker noticeably in the playoffs on D and can get better there as well.
what were the terms, i wonder? hope he gets a shot. i'm surprised some lesser teams didn't throw a bit more cash at him.
Going off his exit interview, role was key. There wasn't going to be one here. Our raise without a role puts him in the same spot a year from now. But I don't think that was even a consideration from us. Reports were that we were talking to Beas Friday night, not Lonnie.
Thank you for that 4th quarter. There wasn't really going to be playing time for him here with us having 3 rotational combo guards. Nets have a slight hole with Curry, Mills and Joe Harris gone.
Certified Laker Legend Lonnie Walker IV. I was hoping we can keep him and DS, both reliable hardworking winners.
