well, that was in twice the amount of games in each case, but still...yeesh.

it's not fair to pin a series loss on a single player, but his underperformance was monumental in this one.

and i think denver only deserves a little credit for it.

that said, i'm not sure we have a path to improving that position immediately this summer, so i think we still have to look hard at re-signing him. just not at the price we were thinking two weeks ago.

No offense ADKOBE but I thought it was a good response in not a nasty tone. And relevant. Yes Russ probably … maybe …. could have man to man D’d up Murray better than Schroder or Vandy, but for all the rest of the Westbrick experience both sides of the ball …. we’d never even have made the playoffs if we even hypothetically just swapped DLO and him as starters, along with the rest of the new guys.

I take offense because you said it was a nasty tone . It's not a far fetched idea that Westbrick would had been a better defender on murray than the others. My post shouldn't be viewed a pro Westbrick . It wasn't a vouch as a player wishing Westbrick was still on the Lakers

He's definitely going to get more than Reaves, from us too.

 

I understand the asset management part. If it’s more in the total package than what AR gets it won’t be because he is actually worth more. Reaves has smoked him in that competition of who’s the more complete ball player and who’s more consistent and who’s shot from deep better in the playoffs. And they have been very complementary players to each other in the limited regular season and some of the first two playoff series.

 

It’s a tricky one here. While ultimately I think we bring him back I don’t think he will be around long at this rate. This has just been an awful series for him.

 

I might get chastised for this, but I’d think we have to look at moving either DS or AR if Dlo stays (or flip Dlo later in the season).

From my perspective, all 3 can compliment each other and they are all capable of shooting, creating, etc. But they all have a common characteristic in that they have a defensive flaw, different ones, and teams have tried to hunt these matchups this year.

AR is not the most athletic player, DS is a dog on defense but undersized and Dlo is Dlo lol Max Christie’s maturation next year might plug this need, but we’re really missing that KCP type of player who can play lock down D and shoot the ‘catch and shoot’ consistently at a high clip at the guard spot. Having an uber effective defender/runner at the guard spot becomes even more important as Lebron gets another year older too.

 

The main problem with D'Angelo here is that doesn't fit with LeBron IMO. Especially Playoffs Lebron.

dlo fits just doesnt perform in playoffs, his shooting isnt good enough for someone as slow n unathletic as him. If dlo was klay lvl shooter it would work

 

I knew it lol let me ask you a question. Do you think this trio of guards can win us a championship next year? Maybe? I agree. But I’d lean on the side of cation and say we can be better here. I like where we’re at from the C/PF/SF position with Rui playing a swivel seat role. Is it wrong to try to improve our roster to be more match up proof? And I’m not necessarily saying we should move AR per my earlier statement. We have options. May be even flip Dlo later in the season if we see more of the same from this years playoffs.

 

You literally said “we should look into moving AR.” Why? So we can keep DLo, a regular season only performer? This makes absolutely no sense.
