Obviously it would be incredible to win tonight but the home team that loses Game 1 wins Game 2 something like 85% of the time. These guys are champions and our MO has been to take the foot off the gas in situations like this so the most likely outcome by far is the Warriors win comfortably tonight. That said, I do think there is some 2011 Lakers potential with this Warriors team. I’m 2011 we went to 6 games against a pretty underwhelming Hornets team and then got swept by the Mavs. We lost a really close Game 1, but we were champions so we’d bounce back. We lost a close Game 2 again, but still this was a championship-tested group that was going to bounce back. Game 3 we lead the entire way until a late Mavs run out them up 0-3. It was bleak, but I distinctly remember thinking (and hearing from other Laker fans) that if anyone could be the first to come back from 0-3 it was that group. Then we get demolished in Game 4 and it was all over. My point is that the end often sneaks up on championship cores. The Heat were crushed in the Finals by the Spurs in 2014. Shaq and Kobe losing badly to the Pistons. The Pistons getting swept by Jordan in 1991. As we know better than most other fanbases, eventually a great team goes to the well but this time it’s empty. For the Warriors it could be this series, or next series or even next year, but it is coming. Despite the Game 7 win I was not particularly impressed with what I saw from the Warriors against a good but not great Kings team. If we can keep wearing on them with our defense and physicality, I think we can break them.
Yes .I was thinking same when Sacramento- GS were still playing . The only difference in 2011 in Game one we were leading like 47 minutes of that game and it was actually close to blowout,Lakers were up by 16 or 18 points at some point in 3-rd quarter . So I am expecting a sweep
Bunch of chicken littles. Everyone said the same scared **** about game 2 against Memphis and ..... ??
It's 15-0 lately. So teams in the Lakers spot are 0-15. Hot take: Just rest LeBron & AD. Maybe even Reaves. Not gonna win Game 2 in this spot. Just focus on winning our home games and we win the series. They're not gonna do this obv, but I do hope they rest LeBron & AD as much as possible.
I was. We need a non sarcastic looking new heart guy. Just a new face with the old hands coming up. Easy peasy. What else do you have going on?
Yeah you can't do that blatantly. But I imagine that if we are down 15, there won't be urgency on our side to bring LeBron or AD back and extend their minutes. I expect both to play closer to 35 minutes than over 40 today
I don't think the Lakers can take tonight's game for granted, despite already picking up a roadie and "shifting the balance." Despite their atrocious road record, I think GS is fully capable of winning a game at Staples and reclaiming HCA. Coming back to LA up 2-0 would give us the cushion we'd need to weather a home loss, and I think we'll need it.
I don’t think it’s about taking the game for granted, I’m sure everyone on the team wants to win tonight and will be going 100% every second they’re out there. It’s just extremely hard to match the intensity of an opponent that is in a must-win scenario. There’s a reason why home teams that lose Game 1 win Game 2 pretty much every time, and it’s not because the road team is taking it for granted.
I honestly can’t believe the stupidity of Brick. It’s like he doesn’t know what our record became after he was removed. What a clown.
Oh time to beat them up inside. Just don't leave J Green open like last game, he's not GP or Dray out there.
