suns are frauds. denver is going to win this series with ease and with the way they've been playing, it wouldn't surprise me at all if they end up in the finals
Lakers all day, every day... But my Preferred Finals matchup (if not the Lakers) would be Denver vs. Philly
Yeah I wouldn’t mind Denver in the finals either. Don’t like the Suns and don’t want GSW to get another. Not a fan of Embiid or Harden. But Definitely don’t want Boston getting another one, so either Miami or New York on the other side.
Suns getting beaten is good for the NBA. Another 3-max team that doesn't work because it's a 5 man+bench sport, not a videogame. Love it But I really don't get their depth issues. They have 4 guys with Ayton. Then Craig, Okogie, Lee, Payne, Ross (who so many people wanted here for the last couple years), Bazley and Shamet have been in the rotations of many teams in the league. Then you have Biyombo/Landale who can give you 10 solid minutes (Biyombo was balling out last season for a stretch). I don't get it, it seems Monty's fault
The Suns looked cooked. Jokic: 39/16/5, 2 steals and a block, going 17/30 from the field. Impressive. If it's not us winning it all, I don't mind anyone but Boston in the East. Yes, this includes Harden now, I don't care that much. In the West it's Denver all the way. Jokic is the best player and it's hard to dislike the guy. He just plays the right way, and it feels like rooting for Dirk in a way (who was awesome).
i don't think it's monty. basically nobody outside their top 4 is a guy you want to rely on in the playoffs. even payne has only had moments in which he was good there. i'm surprised shamet is down to dnp-cds, though. that's pretty tough for them. but ross has only played consistently for losers, for a reason. bazley is young and inexperienced. lee's not even a regular season rotation player. landale and biyombo are best as third stringers. the list goes on. torrey craig should be your 9th guy, not your 5th best player. biggest issue to me is that their non-kd stars aren't defenders, imo. paul can't, booker and ayton won't. that's not a recipe for success. his personality off the court is a little dirk-ish, too. not quite as happy-go-lucky, but also just sort of funny and not into all the bs. i honestly think jokic would gladly have just not won the mvps, much like dirk discussed in that recent interview. whereas guys like embiid basically openly campaign for it.
Suns play to much of a 1 on 1 struggle on offense, no flow to the game, that style won't work vs the nuggets
Paul got hurt and Suns couldn't recover. Their offense is trash unless Paul is involved but he can't defend and he's really old
All the Suns do is ISO for a midrange shot. And sure, they are masters of the midrange shot, but I'm just saying.... this kind of ball isn't the recipe for success. This now requires a lot of teamwork and depth, and defense for the playoffs, of course. CP3 got hurt. This guy is like an atomic clock, you can always count on some random injury in the playoffs.
Barkley just picked us to win the series. Effin' great (rolls eyes)! Every broken clock is right once? LOL!
What if Durant is just very good now and not you know Durant best scoring forward of all time type? When you run your offense thru him it end ups being decent looks for him but overall these are difficult shots (pull up mid rangers) with little chance to draw a foul and or get the defense to rotate to leave a dump off to someone else. the classic Lebron apex hunting attack generated a lot of open looks and fouls.
the bet was that durant's decline would be slow enough that they had a couple year window, but man...i don't know. we'll see what he's got for the rest of the series, but the suns haven't looked great here or against the clippers, and they don't much means to improve the team.
Seems like “most” every other player the popped achilles did NOT help the latter, or any stage for that matter, of their careers.
