I agree with this take, but that sort of stuff only goes so far at the same time. When the X’s and O’s starts to fail you and you lose, the confidence and good vibes go away. Players will only respond to that sort of coaching for 2, maybe 3 years before they start to tune it out because they’ve heard it all before, and now that they need are actual offensive schemes, consistent rotations, timeouts being taken at the smart times, etc. ;)

True. I think that happened a bit to Vogel. Well, Westbrook happened who was basically uncoachable. But hey, if Ham gets us to championship like Vogel did his first year I'll take it.

Oh boy here we go with this again. No, I don’t know when you’re talking to me, I don’t assume someone is talking to me even if it seems like they might be, needs to be a quote or be plainly obvious. But here we go again, I’m the moderator, I control all, I see all. :wasntme: Back on ignore you go, have fun at the annual Ham family BBQ.

It’s exactly what happened to Vogel. Team was over that non existent offense, him using guys are security blankets that didn’t deserve the time they got, stuff like that. BUT, he wasn’t a rookie, and he was more experienced in year one with us in areas Ham lacks. Hiring a rookie coach for this particular run was a mistake looking back, and while I hope like hell I’m wrong I see it costing us in games to come, either in this series or if we move on and face the Warriors.

It very well could Weezy. But I'm glad we've gotten to this point at least. Hopefully we can close out Memphis and go from there.

LMAO. Vogel got fired as a fall guy for the Westbrook disaster. That's it.

That’s a stretch. Seems to me he is just asking guys not to overthink things during crunch time that he’ll have the ball and make the right play. Lebron ball after all.

Sure, that too - but you don't think that "let me worry about the X's and the O's" has *anything* at all to do with the coach?

Honestly I don’t. I think our views of the coaching staff as fans would be radically different to the players views that are around them everyday. I don’t sense any frustration from our players to our coaching staff in any interviews, in fact the opposite, I think they’re thrilled to be up 3-1 and are locked in as a unit.

Can he please call TO's earlier.
I understood what he was trying to the lineups so I'm not complaining about his decisions especially since I was calling for Dlo as well but damn use your TO's. WHo care if the half or quarter is ending - stop these awful runs that reach double digit earlier - 6-8 points swing call it

I do appreciate Cranjis breaking the plays and adjustements down .

Would like to have his opinion on Lakers lack of rim protection with AD on the bench and Ham 3 guards lineup decision

Legit question: has anyone explained to him that timeouts aren't like rollover minutes?

Only Phil called fewer, but he an actual hand full of rings to backup his strategies when he came here and finished with more rings than fingers. He could do whatever the hell he wanted. Ham ain't that.

    "yet"

it's his first season, and it's clear he's playing chess out there

sure occasionally he's taking it on the chin, but that's to be expected from time to time
