Annoying that Phoenix will be bailed out by injuries yet again: they lucked out in that finals run 2 years ago and now double lucky with both Kawhii and George out
Weird 6ers-Nets game - Maxey & Harden sucked offensively but Tobias & rebounding carried them to a win. For the Nets to get outrebounded by 16 in a winnable game...guess their heads were in Cancun already.
It would have been nice to find a way to have gotten Mason Plumlee. He would have been a great backup big behind AD. Clips and not having a tax concern just get talented players
Harris is one of those guys when you seem him play well is damn this guy should be a perennial All-star and he just isn't?
Yep: Tobias, when he shows up, has an A+ midrange game and everything else is good, too. He's one of those guys who can't get his head into the game unless he gets the ball more often, especially early. Coaches need to see that: certain guys need to be relied upon early in the game. Congrats to Brooklyn for even making the playoffs after the KD/Kyrie drama, but now's the season for D, and PHI held Nets to 101, 84, 97, and 88 in the sweep.
Re: playoffs and teams be playin' DEFENSE: check out the Cavs-Knicks series so far: Knicks come out in Game 1 and hold CLE to 97. Cavs win Game 2, holding the Knicks to 90. Knicks respond by holding Cavs to 79 in Game 3. 79! This has been one of the more eye-opening series, for me, so far. Brunson is really Kyrie without all the flash. (Hey, I like the flash, but Jalen gets it done.) I expected BOS to sweep, but ATL got one. I'm guessing that's all they'll get. Whichever team wins Game 4 in the SAC/GSW will probably win the series. MIA won game 1 vs. MIL, which was surprising. Then MIL, w/o Giannis, scored 81 in the first half and coasted to the win. That could turn into an interesting series, but I kinda doubt it. MIN looked deflated at home against DEN in Game 3, late in the game. Every time they got to within 3 or 5, Nugs quickly pushed it back up to 9 or 11, all throughout the 2nd half. Nugs will join 76ers in having first round sweeps. They look like a team of guys who've been playing together for a long time and just jell. MIN has talent - Antman had a really good game in their last loss - but they're a mess. Gobert may be one of the more cancerous players in the league. No one - and I mean NO ONE - knows WTF is going on with GSW's Jekyll-Hyde home/away play. At home they're GREAT, play D; on the road they look like the play-in team they almost were. I hate PHO, but I don't think Clips can hang with them. Kawhi's injuries, and his sister being sentenced to life for murder has got to have the team roiling. Now's the time for Russ to shine as the Clips bow out. Russ is great when he's fillin' up the stat sheet while his team loses. Now's his time!
I really hate that Phoenix cheated the game by trading for Durant, AND they get to waltz to the 2nd round because Kawhi and PG are out. I hope Denver takes them out.
Even if they're getting a short series, at least the Suns big 3 are still logging absurd minutes. KD with 45 minutes today. Check out the top 10 in minutes played in these playoffs
Lakers perimeter iso sucks But post offense & pass outs are stellar Translation is to do the obvious: run the offense through AD. Or Bron or someone in the post. Even when you go right at JJJ On defense, don't fall for putting AD on JJJ, let him roam help defense and rim protection.
No Kawhi or George? I guess he's supposed to do it all by himself. I wonder if we can win a playoff game without Lebron and AD?
Terrible to watch in real time. Damn man, he has had some terrible luck. As for Westbrook, it’s clear how some people just really don’t like him. He has been great against Phoenix on both sides of the floor apart from a bad shooting night in game 1. He has been good for the clippers and fits their team much better with the shooting around him to take advantage of his play making. As slick said, I don’t think we’re winning a playoff game without AD and Lebron.
