KD out 3 weeks with freak ankle sprain sustained in warm-ups.

This seems to me somehow even more of a freak accident than D-Lo's ankle thing. Couldn't happen to a "nicer" team (PHO). Unfortunately, they're rich and 8 games over .500

odds of both cp and kd making it through 4 rounds of playoffs are lower than those of lebron and AD doing the same.

    Ja. You got to leave.

Get out of Memphis. Take your kid and that's all. No friends from home. No family. They'll still be there later on.

We're at the point where there's a weekly story about a current or prior incident. And guess what... they all involve guns or the threat of guns.

omg if durant was a laker...

what i don't get is our fanbase doing it. i get it from everyone else. they're haters. it's stupid, but at least i get the motivation. our own fans with the mr. glass stuff i don't get. AD is fragile like several other high impact stars are fragile. NONE of their fanbases are nearly as toxic to their team's guy.

Because our fanbase is spoiled , championship or bust ... and some "celebrities" make fun of AD's fragility ( Shaq , Barkley , Snoop Dogg) so the most mainstream Lakers fans blindly followed their opinion , an easy thing to do

This is going to be the problem in the playoffs. And this was against a Wemby Watch team. They added some bigger forwards, that helps. But a team like the Kings, Grizz or us will cook him in a series. Sabonis, JJJ, and AD can leave him in their dust and pull him away from the basket enough to open the driving lanes up. Clipps could do the same to them if they go small.

I only like them as the clear cut favorites in a series against the Mavs (no size or D), Grizz (if Ja is out they don't have enough), and Minny (awful roster construction). Out of the top 10 teams, I could see them losing to any of the others.

He's not, but he moves a lot quicker than Joker. Also he can play PF or C giving the Kings more lineup options.

All of this, plus the Kobe efect. We were spoiled by the Black Mamba, and nobody will live up to his standard. A guy falling down repeatedly and missing large portions of games each season is especially difficult to stomach in comparison. I get that to some extent, but still - Lakers fans calling AD out and questioning his "Alpha" status is just lame IMHO. We could be in a MUCH worse position had he not pushed to come here.

I think what helps me put it all in perspective was being a Lakers fans during the early 60's when we were perennially second place team next to the C Bags and then had to endure two years of the Knicks actually being good.

Winning rings is difficult. When everything comes together and you make a good run, it is no guarantee that it will continue. Look at all the super teams over the years, what happened to EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM, when they finally lost their best players? They ALL had down years afterwards. Boston, twice, Lakers twice, SF is about to see how this feels, Chicago has been down for ages. Winning is difficult when all things are good, winning is dang near impossible when there are problems.

So true. It seems like people who like to harp on AD so much have forgotten the taste of the rebuilt. There are not so many players who give you a real shot at a title as the main guy. AD has already proven to be one, a "Beta" he's not. Questioning his durability is fine, but calling him names and making fun of his ability to lead a team is weak sauce.

so sac beat phx last night and is likely to win the pacific division, against all projections. i remain befuddled and looked at the box score when i noticed a very familiar lineup. then i looked at their season stats and realized their top 7 players have played virtually the entire season. it's got to be some sort of record. shows what health and continuity and can do in a league that has very little of it.

i think it also bodes poorly for the playoffs if and when they meet one of the more talented teams with a full roster.
