His full court pressure defense is great. He has turned the game around at times with his aggressiveness.
I know a coach's job is to motivate his players and not worry about financials. But man, good job hyping his market value ahah He has been great. Real baller. Definitely skilled, experienced, controlled with the ball. He rarely plays awful. Just a great guy to have in a roster and give you solid minutes. He's not a starter, but can definitely play a role in a contending team. Hopefully we keep him
So does that tell the other guys who also are on minimum contracts that that's all they are worth? Reaves Wenyan who else?
Be a great story if he stays long term and has found a home, gets a reasonable contract, etc. not sure how much we can pay him, but with short athletic careers and money is a principle concern for the athletes.
i think it would be good if we offered him our largest exception with a PO on the second year. would give him/us early bird rights going forward. i'm guessing teams will line up for him this year with the taxpayer mle, though. gotta count on ham's connection here.
This was his biggest contribution of the night. Bane could have sunk us if he were allowed to get hot.
Have no idea why so many fans hate this guy: yes he's definitely got his faults (small, overdribbles, doesn't have great vision) but man he gives it his all - he's on the ground diving for balls and he'll fight thru screens and press full court. Add in that defenses have to gameplan to keep him out of the paint, he's been invaluable
probably stems from his first stint with us. Still glad he didn’t take pelinka’s offer though. I don’t mind if he stays though, just don’t overpay. Always available, solid defense. He totally bought in this year.
Wow, some of those finishes tonight were unreal. Dennis has been great for us this season. Honestly, better than the first time around. I do hope we find a way to keep him next year and beyond. I was against signing him this year but boy was I ever wrong and happy to admit it.
I would say that most don’t hate him, we just want him playing the correct position. He’s not REALLY a PG, he can make plays, but it’s not his strength. He’s a scoring guard and a defensive player. What I didn’t like his first time around was that he was promised a staring role, that was dumb. When used right as a bench PG and in the right situations even closing games he can be great. I liked the signing a lot from the start at the minimum, you can’t find better at that spot at the minimum, and even when it was getting annoying with him and Bev starting I still felt he was useful if moved to a different position. In the past he’d been a turnover machine too though, jumping to pass, lazy telegraphed passes, he’s cleaned it up a ton lately, which is great. He had an awful season last year in Boston and Houston, he’d almost played himself out of the league, so it’s nice to see him bounce back.
We would not be in the position we are in without DS. He is the player I thought we were getting the first time. It might not be hate but he had a couple sub par games for him because he had to have had a sore ankle. Their was some rumblings. He fought through and helped us win game when he could easily have sat out and not been questioned. I love that kind of toughness. He is on the keep list. With DS, AR and AD we can make teams work.
I thought he was a little too ball hoggish at times, but overall, he gave the team what they needed, and you can't argue with the results. Definitely a baller. Glad we have him. Maybe he lives down the clown tag, and we have to find a new model.
He's gotten a lot better with some of the sloppy handling and is infinitely better at involving AD than he was last time he was a Laker. Those have been big positive changes that I wasn't really expecting, imo.
watching the game now, and not enough was said about how schroder punished dillon brooks in the first half. brooks or jenkins or both thought he'd take denis out of the game, and the reverse happened. respect.
