Another great game. Yes, I wish Ham would bring him off the bench please. I know it won't happen though. I don't mind him closing the game though. Great free thrower (despite those two rare misses in a row tonight).
I just mentioned in LeBron’s thread …. BUT we can give Darvin this considering the reasons he states and it’s certainly better paired with DAR than BevMo, with Dennis playing his best ball as a Laker now, and in return he is giving us Austin Reaves to run the point for this amazing NEW Bench Mob.
denis/dlo can work too as starters, that's a 2pg combo that can work, neither are pure pg n their style on O is different but i would only do those 2 if Bron isnt on the floor. With bron there it'll cause denis/dlo to be spot up shooters
He’s maybe got a better handle than Russell though? Wouldn’t worry too much whoever has the ball in their hands from swinging it around or bringing up the court.
That's hard to say... he has a good handle, which he primarily uses to penetrate the defense and score. And his speed helps a lot, obviously. D'Angelo's handle is quite good too. I feel he gets into a fancy dribble more often to create space for a stepback 3. He's more creative with the ball. And because of this, he will also have 1 extra turnover on average compared to Dennis.
assuming we keep most of the new guys, it's either that (7 million), the BAE (4.5) or just a 120% raise using non-bird rights (3). given that he's still a starter, my guess is his agent will be asking for the largest of the three, and we'll probably need to oblige--if he walks, we have to use those same slots to try and replace his role/production, as he's not redundant on the roster.
I think we tend to forget that increased spacing will not just help Lebron and AD but other guys as well. Shroeder main assist is ability to get to the basket and beat guys off the dribble. This was really duplicative with Westbrook. Schroeder should be able to tee off now especially against bigs switched on to him as swinging the ball to DLo is a lot more threatening then to Brick or Bevs
True. It's crazy how much players in our team benefit from not having Russ. I think only Gabriel will miss him, which is a good problem to have and either way he will still bring energy whenever he's called in. It's hard not to get excessively confident on this team. I'm really curious to see how the next 10 games will go
i think you have to temper it with the lack of familiarity with both scheme and teammates. portland made minimal changes. NO made minimal changes and has gotten quite used to playing without zion. as rui said after we beat gs: we're totally winging it/streetballing it out there right now. that's going to continue, probably for the rest of the season. if we had a camp and were starting the season with this roster, i'd share your confidence, though. sufficient talent and balance on the roster to get all the way out of the west, imo.
Cool to see Dennis being so understanding, especially because moving him to the bench just makes so much sense! I think this also makes the theory that he had been promised a starting position unlikely
Settles in nicely off the bench. 10 pts, 2 assists, with no turnovers on 3-4 shooting and a +7 in under 20 minutes. Only 3-6 from the line which is surprising but he will bounce back from that. Him and Reaves might be the best reserve backcourt in the league.

He's an average/slightly below average NBA starting PG but he's a very good backup PG. Really surprised he didn't work out in Boston last year - he's a real hard cover for most bench units
