He might have wanted to have been on the court with Lebron for that moment but Ham took him out for Bryant..

Or for all we know his foot could be feeling funny..

Very strange evening. He no showed. Watching his presser now: he's just sort of not into it tonight. No idea what's going on with him. Haven't seen him so unengaged in forever. Not this year for sure. Weird. Honestly, he looks kind of out of it.

I don’t want to overreact to that clip, I could see him just being overcome by the emotions and not being too expressive with it.

But this performance overall, SOMETHING felt very off. I don’t know if he’s not 100%, was just too deferential because he knew it was a big game for LeBron … or conspiracy time, I couldn’t help but wonder the possibility if he’s dejected because he’s heard that we ARE legitimately discussing a trade option involving him.

In the post game just now he seemed utterly depressed.

Yeah, he had come to the post game podium as I was writing my previous comment and after watching that, something is definitely not right.

I can’t recall the last time I saw him so dejected and so low energy. I can’t believe that was just the standard disappointment of a loss.

I know all the talk was about the potential Lebron and Kyrie reunion. But I wonder if AD had gotten even more emotionally invested in getting Kyrie. I think they’re also very good friends, and maybe he’s dejected because in his mind now that we couldn’t pull off that trade he’s lost faith in this roster?

No idea. It's really the strangest, as you said, low energy I've ever seen AD have. In the game and after it. He had one block early on with a bit of fire but that was all. Just kind of unnerving to see him like this. The dude was playing like an MVP before he got hurt. Now he's just a shell. Don't know what happened here.

yeah, something's up with him. not sure if he's injured again, dealing with a flu or something, or an off-court issue, but he didn't look right at all tonight. not engaged whatsoever. outside of that loose ball he dove into the lakers bench for, he had zero energy

if they can get a haul in return, i'd be fine trading him but i can't see other teams giving up a haul for a guy who can't stay healthy

We would get fleeced in any AD trade. He's not Gobert and we're the Lakers, everyone hates us.

    Yikes…

I saw LeBron say “I love you” to a lot of others he greeted after breaking the record, pretty sure he said the same to Kareem and Magic.

But the vibe in this interaction with AD was NOT that.

That “I just want you to know I love you” and AD’s apparent indifference to it really did seem like Lebron was saying “Sorry, but don’t take it personal”.

Reading some people speculate that Lebron let AD know he’d be demanding a trade this summer. Some speculating that AD was upset that Ham took him off the floor for that record breaking play. Maybe he’s realizing that he won’t be 100% with this foot injury and depressed about it. Or just generally dejected at the team’s struggles…

But I don’t know, watching those clips gives me a sense that there is something specifically up between Lebron and AD. Wonder if Lebron tried to feel out if it would be possible to trade AD for KD, and AD heard about it.

Yeah something happened there. Not sure what the problem is, but AD and LeBron are normally pretty close

that he was sitting during the shot was absolutely bizarre, as was that exchange. really out of character. something is definitely up.

edit: and i also noticed that ham wasn't playing him as much as he normally would in a game like this. vibe was way off.

i'm probably AD's biggest fan on the site, and i think you just don't trade players of his talent level (unless you're getting one back). that said, you also don't put him on the block unless you're prepared to move him immediately. that's "fire rob" territory for me. clown show stuff.
