Or maybe the team can't find a sucker to take on his contract. It could be that too.

A 47 million dollar expiring contract, isn't some kind of easy thing to move. I can't think of one that has ever been moved actually.

it's especially hard when it's clear that upper management has costs to watch. teams will gladly dump their bad contracts on us, even with something decent attached. but that could be a LOT of undesirable salary (e.g., hayward) to get marginal upgrades.

also hurts that russ got painted with the "needs picks attached in any case" bs early. good narrative management by other gms.

again, i still think one or more of them will wish they'd gotten off some of the guys we would have taken at various points.

The plan was for the team to stay afloat when LeBron or AD aren’t in. The plan failed. It’s that simple. The numbers don’t lie, but fans always do.

He's jumps way too high on most of his shots. When he jumps it all seems off with his form because it's almost like his goal is to win a standing jump contest rather than to creat balance and lift for the shot.

Only reason I wanted Rondo to stick around last year was to convince him to move to a set 3 pointer

But it's also true for his layups. Always kind of ... falls off of his palm.

But the team did stay afloat. We were .500 without AD. Over that stretch Reaves missed 13 games, Walker missed 14 and Lebron & Beverly missed 3 each.

    That is staying afloat.

On top of that, 4 of the losses were by a cumulative total of 9 points. If it wasn’t for some bad officiating we would have gone 13-7. Russ played great over that period.

“Here's the REAL problem, though: LA is -9.8 w/ Russ on & LeBron off. One of the selling points on bringing in Russ was to finally be able to weather non-LeBron mins & that isn't happening.” Trevor Lane

You big dummy! Can't play in the 4th Q or OT of playoff level games. Ever.

One good play then three costly ones.

He can't distinguish between a good idea and a terrible one.

Boy... how can an NBA player of this caliber be this dumb. Genetic lottery indeed.

I thought Ham finally grew some balls in the 4th quarter (and we win in regulation if it wasnt for the Refs)....but then they shrivel and in comes Westbrook in OT.

I honestly think we can hang with any team in the NBA

Our biggest opponent is Westbrook's nerves going absolutely haywire in a big games

LeBron wide open by 12 feet from any defender right in front of Russ when the rim blocked his left handed fly by under the basket.

Can anyone like San Antonio just take him for a second rounder and Jeannie just pay his salary for the rest of the season? I'm kidding I think
