we have a better shot at keeping him because we used the mini mle instead of the vet min, but yeah, seems like we're not working to maximize him.
And if we keep misusing him like this (as opposed to how the season started without .... two midget ball pounders in the starting lineup now taking precedent over that) why would he even want to stay?
Got surprised to see that he has the lowest +/- of the team at -117 with a large advantage. Next in line are without a surprise Pat Bev, Russ and Schroder https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask/lakers-players-plus-minus-this-season Following the games, would like to see a breakdown because it seems it's related with the 3 or 4 guard lineups that puts Lonnie playing the 3 or 4 Reaves has the highest +/-, no surprised there too. What a guy
I wonder where Lonnie is gonna fit on this team without a trade? Brown and JTA look better at the 3 and we have so much guards who demand minutes. He has the worst plus/minus of the rotation players so without a trade of Bev/Nunn/Westbrook I can see his minutes dropping a lot when he comes back if the team keeps winning.
yeah, we still need to clear some guards out for a sf. the good news is we have enough depth there to make it happen.
He's in the box score now at least. That's usually a sign that he's about ready to play. I expect that he will hit the court in the next game or two.
It seems him and AR will get evaluated again on Friday and will probably be ready for the Boston game.
The kid has missed 14 straight games, it's a bit of out of sight, out of mind, going on with him. At 15 pt per game and 38% from deep, he's still a nice young rotation piece. Hopefully we can get him back on the court this weekend. I'm not counting Lonnie out just yet, he and Austin add good size, and some decent outside shooting to our perimeter attack. They bring a totally different look to our 3 guard offense. I'm optimistic with the possibilities..
I agree, I like Lonnie a lot and he has been a terrific Malik Monk replacement. I'm hoping he bounces back with the same kind of energy he had before he went down. He's a borderline starter, but he's a good spark plug and should do better if we can just get rid of Pat Bev or at least move Bev to the bench. Walker should never be in the SF role. He's too small.
He had his moments enough first game back to show why he’s been missed and was a good p/u for the money from what was available. Too bad the inflexible approach from Ham with starting Dennis and Bev regardless of all else and his super short rotations means that all other players with enough talent and value to deserve minutes won’t get enough or even “any” with the DNPs …. of them.
Lonnie looked good in his first game back. He wasn't benched due to poor play, he was injured. He will be back starting before this road trip is over.
