yeah, that's fine. i don't see it. new guy(s) won't know the system on either end, and those little miscues add up. it's not like if bojan shows up tomorrow, everything just works seamlessly. i'm sort of shocked at the suggestion, tbh.

maybe laker fans are spoiled by the pau trade (though i think there are some very important caveats there, too), but midseason trades don't usually have huge impact, particularly right away.

again, i'm all for trading; but i think we're best off waiting until the last possible moment given what we're seeing in the market so far.

Normally I’d say we might be (better off waiting for a deal) but we are going to lose a lot of games by then with all three of AD Reaves and Walker out. Right now is the time to add someone to the team or we may be too far behind by the deadline. We are too light on talent to begin with and losing 3 of our best 5 is just sinking us. Upcoming we play Sacto and Memphis plus a tough 5 game roadie including Boston probably without these three. It’s not enough. Bev and Nunn are useless. Bogdanovic is a vet who could literally slide right in as starting 3.

We take the best course of action that will present him as a high value trade asset. If it means show casing, then play him. If it means have him sit out many games then so be it. No reason to push him this year with the Lakers in 13th place with half the season done already

Still on the blow it up kick. Hate LeBron and can’t wait till he’s gone, and no matter how good he still is, like MVP caliber when healthy, plus being a BIG man and that good …. can’t wait to now trade AD off.

Oh that’s right these 2 guys aren’t elite enough any more to compete against the “real elite” other duos for a ring.

We are 2 games off 6th place. That 13th place bit is only used by haters.

Pelicans robbed us for 6 lottery picks for 1 year of AD.

and we got a ring and they got bupkus. brandon ingram missed 27 games last year and has already missed 20+ halfway through this year, btw.

edit: as i posted elsewhere a few weeks back, NO should be really mad that they moved the best pick we traded them (darius garland) for jaxson hayes and nickeil alexander walker. holy cow that's bad. the only other pick of ours they've used is on dyson daniels. then they have this year's late lotto swap, and whatever next year or the year after will be. probably late lotto.

tbh, the best picks they've made since the trade have been herb jones and trey murphy, both NOT from our trade and later in the draft. in other words: i wouldn't be losing sleep over this, nor would i hesitate to pull the trigger if a similar trade ever becomes available to us again.

It never would be accepted by the player's union but a good portion of the player's salary should depend on the number of games played.

A significant portion of high paid players keep missing one third+ of the season year after year

the league has to ask itself if having its best players miss 25% of games is better than having 10% fewer games. because i think this would make a difference.

Yeah I guess the league has enough "data" to compare the financial loss generated by some key players missing games ( especially playoffs games) to the money which would be lost by playing less games .

I wonder if such a study already has been/will be made at some points

meh, those guys are marginal talents but randle, zubac, jc, nance were all given away for nothing. Out of the cast I only liked BI but as stated by abeer, he too has been quite injury prone

Hello I am new to this group. I am going to Boston next weekend to see the Lakers-C Bags and have a few questions. First, does anyone know what hotel the team stays in hen they go to Boston? And does anyone know how long before tip off do they warm up? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you

nance and JC had to go to create cap space for lebron

randle if i remember correctly wanted a long-term deal and i don't think they would have been able to afford him and lebron

zubac i think the issue was that he was going to be a RFA and the lakers were probably going to renounce him anyways. still shouldn't have been traded for mike f***ing muscala

not broken up at all over losing lonzo. would have loved to keep hart and BI but i'll take the ring any day

kuzma would not have been playing like he is in WAS if he was still a laker, but i wish they would have kept him instead of making the d****** russ trade

i never understand when people make it seem like the lakers would currently be a title contender if they had kept all those guys (which wouldn't have been possible in the first place) sure they've put up better stats since leaving, but what have they done otherwise? first round exits?

The Lakers would have never won a title with these guys .

    They did with AD

    End of debate

Losing KCP and Caruso for Westbrook is another story though

honestly, imo, clarkson, randle, and zubac didn't HAVE to go, either. iirc, we had the space for lebron once we cleared russell (or very close?). i feel like we ended up with excess space past lebron that we didn't put to good use (rondo and something else, also let lopez walk).

the rob/magic era was actually a disaster aside from lebron signing.

i've been pretty ok with everything since magic left save the russ trade and the caruso decision.
