You know who would pair well with him: a 4 who can defend the rim, is mobile enough to cover ground and is able to move on offense with increased spacing. That sounds like AD!
like i said, certainly worth looking at. though i do wonder if our theories about who goes well with AD match reality. i will say that AD's passing looked improved to me this year, which helps with some of my fears about playing another big with him (particularly one who can't pass). nba defenses are getting to where they not only find non-shooters, they find guys who can't make you pay with the pass, too. the more guys you have that can do that, the better. i think it's another reason why beverley doesn't work great anymore. you don't have to be afraid of him making a play for someone else. bryant is like that, too, at this point. if he's not finishing, the play is dead.
Got to like the intensity: nice having a big other than AD who you know is going to smash it if he has the chance or find another way to get into go if he's got good position. If AD comes back, he should be seeing all the back up C minutes and Ham should experiment him with AD in the lineup
Thomas is playing his A** off out there! He really battles down low. I thought he was going to float around outside most of the time and shoot 3s.
I’d like to see him some too with Gabriel. LOL we could go huge maybe in some special matchups with AD Bryant, Gabriel, LeBron and Reaves or Walker.
I'd like to see him starting with AD at the 4. Ideally Dennis/Reaves/Lebron/Davis/Bryant should get a try. I hope we can clear up our log jam of guards. Two of Russ/Bev/Nunn should be traded.
I'm not sure why our FO/coaches have a difficult time wrapping their head around this. Do this, have Lonnie, new shooter(s) (incoming in the above-mentioned guard trade) , and Gabriel off the bench, and you're onto something.
Offensively he's a force. While teams aren't game planning for him like they are AD or Bron, I haven't seen a team or player prevent him from doing what he wants to do on a given play on offense. Was listening to a podcast today, forget which one, and they pointed out a big key to his success -- his patience. Like in the play above, he'll wait you out and then go get his. Even Gabriel has that frantic rushed pace to him. But TB is extremely deliberate and he's a pretty heady player, doesn't make very many mistakes on that end. He's been our most reliable scorer in his role after Bron and AD. In terms of current starting Cs, I have him as the 12th best offensive center. That's a bargain for his price point. I think Bron and co are on the way to fetching him the non tax payers mid level from somewhere if he stays healthy the rest of the year. I would have him in there right behind Brook. Another key in him getting paid is keeping up this level of rebounding intensity. That's been a knock on him in the past, if he's grabbing at least 8 boards along with his scoring, he's getting $$$.
Wow Thomas nice game again …. 19 13 and a beast putting the ball in the basket in close. Nothing but net from 3 first shot of the game. Dude is just solid.
Insane he's almost replaced ADs offensive impact??? This will be big in the playoffs as the Lakers if healthy would always have a true 5 with a good offensive game and No Lebron at C ball. Also you pass on any C trades now unless they are highway robbery
