we don't have the same amount of money to do that kind of damage again. i'm still hoping we'll have even less when the dust settles. the only way to re-mozdeng ourselves is with a bad russ trade.

seems like about 30 games. the suns and clippers have planned their rosters in the same way and been more successful, though. it's always a matter of when chris paul and kawhi leonard are going to be hurt. so you build to survive 20-game absences and hope they're available for the playoffs.

we can't survive a 10 game absence from either star right now.

Darvin Ham, two weeks after Anthony Davis suffered the stress injury in his right foot, says “the biggest thing is, his pain has just about dissipated” and says Davis is trending in the right direction when it comes to approaching a ramp up to return to the court.

Can't help but to feel hope

You don't know. You never know. That comes with the territory of any pro athlete. They get hurt and you hope they come back as quickly as they possibly can.

I might be overly optimistic but I'm hoping he can return by mid-January or so.

A bone spur removal in the foot is a very minor surgery especially where AD's spur is or is reported to be, right at the top. It's a small incision, he couldn't be down more than 2 weeks so if he is gonna do it, he should have acted on it already. At this point I hope he doesn't because it may actually slow his return to court.

Great to finally hear what AD has been dealing with. Can we please get these guys (AD and Lebron) some help? This is getting ridiculous that they have to carry nearly the entire team on their backs.

did it cover the risk of playing with the spur? it sounds like the best course of action is to try to give him sporadic planned rest this year and get the surgery immediately upon the conclusion of the season?

The doctors said hey if it didn't bother you since college, it's not likely to bother you now. There is always the chance though and since it is such an easy procedure and healing involves just allowing the small incision to heal up (what, a week?) he will do it this summer. Hopefully, until then, AD can contain his unnecessary MMA kicks.

Considering it was Rob's first move as GM to find a way to offload both of those contracts it's interesting that you would assume that now he's going to just take the team's little bit of cap space and sign up 2 more of the same. I think your invalidation of Rob's abilities is dramatized and misplaced.

it cost the team a former #2 pick to move mozgov, so what am I invalidating? btw Dlo lead to Nets getting KD and the Warriors turned Dlo into Wiggins (a key player for their chip team) AND a lotto pick. Also Rob or whoever else involved in Deng stretch wave didnt need to do that until they were 100% sure they were going to get kawai or PG done, instead it ended being 6mill cap hit for 3 season for no reason

A #2 pick that didn't fit with this team at all from a chemistry point. The kid was hated. Did you think Rob would offload a bad contract for nothing? He did it very smartly. He had to do something, Kupchak and Jimmy screwed the pooch on that one and it required a fix, that was the best fix. Deng stretch was exactly 5 mill per year, not 6, and it was minimal and unavoidable and had nothing whatsoever to do with whether or not we landed Kwahi or PG. In the end, Rob got rid of 30+ million in wasted cap space by dumping a toxic player and taking a minimal 5 million hit per year x3. He did an excellent job. And the point, which you avoided, anyways was that Rob got rid of the contracts, not went out and signed a couple similar deals as you are suggesting we will do.

and yet that #2 player got better return than Rob, TWICE. They did NOT need to stretch Deng, they had cap space to sign Bron once that season ended, Deng cap space led to NOTHING, Lopez who actually could've been had for cheap and was a solid pairing to AD was let go for NOTHING, guess what our team is lacking with AD out

bears repeating that we don't have near the same amount of cap space we did that year in terms of buying power, too. deng and mozgov's first years of those contracts totaled like 34 million. we only have about 30 as things stand right now. with cap inflation, we signed those dudes to jalen brunson type contracts! hard to overstate how bad that was. so the good news is that because lebron and AD are paid so much we can't possibly do something as bad as mozdeng again. though i'd argue the russ trade was pretty close. so i guess we could do something like that again!

Russell also matured, became stronger and a better player prior to the later trades … and thank Magic as the guy who didn’t value any of the Bigs we had.

Rob quickly fixed the MozDeng issue. Snitch Boy is still over rated and not a leader. That deal was masterful, and coming from me, that says a lot.
