Thibs would probably like him, I am telling you. And he would not be too small for them either. Everyone benefits, since they do have dudes with length that we need and the Knicks have no use for in his system.
fournier/reddish for bev/nunn has been available. my guess is both teams are going to shop like hell for something better, but i wouldn't be surprised to see this deal go down at some point. question is who caves on the peripherals (has been us in almost every deal lately) and how long it takes. i'm of course hoping we can do better.
Everyone is, but we could do a lot worse than that. That deal is a clear upgrade in size and shooting.
i'm the leader of the "you just don't 'add' shooters" brigade, but it's clear we're not going to defend, so yeah, i'm on board with a deal like that right now. let's out score some folks. again, there's still time. i don't think any deal done tomorrow does much to mitigate AD's absence, even if it's a great deal. it takes time to get folks acclimated to the system, etc. i get why we're pausing, and i get why the knicks might be, too. if it were me, i'd probably just pull the trigger on a deal like this tomorrow, but i'm not an nba gm.
Brown is hot doesn't finish the game but he keeps Westbrook in the game? I get Reaves looked gassed on the b2b but maybe Brown over Westbrook on a day when he's 3 was falling?
I don’t get the minimizing of Brown since Schroeder got here since he and Walker in the starting lineup were doing better than taking him out of it and how we’re doing now and how Walker is subsequently doing now …. instead with both midgets having to f****** start. It’s been intimated by Cranjis that he doesn’t know the play book well enough? The results on the floor, record aside while he was starting (and if Ham hasn’t the sense and the BALLS to start Reaves and stick to it) looked better because he offered more with his size, quickness and shoots the 3 ball as good or better than Schroeder and until Beverly’s recent uptick better than he was too. But now Brown’s draining 3s and still doesn’t get enough time on the floor while we get worked from our lack of size in the lineups Ham the defensive “genius” keeps putting out there.
HMBH .... HOLD MY BEER HAM Would not be opposed to the poop on his head gifs brought back ala Byron Scott for this clown's inability to leave either Schroder or Beverly out of the starting lineup. WT flying F, Darvin, is wrong with you??? Put Brown back in or make the permanent switch to Reaves you jack***!! It's a liability every damn night, because of our size deficit and equally important because you've just wrecked Walker compared to how he was able to play when Brown was in there, or certainly would as well be able with Reaves in there.
but he has the plays, gaiz. vogel didn't have the plays and was dumb and the reason we lost last year.
He put so much mental capacity and effort into getting Russ to come off the bench and still be in a good mood that he went stoopid on the most basic of everything else.
I've said that Ham is a scam immediately after his "address the nation" speach at the beginning of the season. He is Mike Brown 2.0. He has done nothing, aside from the obvious and forced move of Russ to the bench, to disprove this.
And he still idiotically closes with Russ at the end of games. If Lebron is handling the ball at the end of games then get Russ's a** out of there. It shouldn't take a genius to figure that out. Look at all of our clutch losses. Clippers, Portland, Indiana, Boston etc... Lebron is on-ball so Russ is spotting up with his defender packing the paint completely ignoring him.. Obviously our offense is finished at that point but this clown can't realize that.
It's not like he wasn't given the juice and mandate to do what he thinks is best out there. And these lineups when most everyone's available except AD now are unbelievably and objectively stat supported bad. The biggest and worst constant FU obviously is running the two midgets together in the starting lineup instead of Brown or Reaves at the 2. I don't even care if it's Schroder or BevMo that sits, they've been playing well enough. I'd vote Schroder sit since both Brown and Walker were starting and each was playing magnitudes better before he got here and that all stopped. But a case could be made maybe where what's left of Beverly's defensive performance and instincts might be better served helping out Westbrook's sorry a** on defense with the bench guys?
Vogel made the best out of our trash last year, that was with Russ getting starter minutes. It is not what you can do with more, it is what you can do with less.
Russ ain't closing every game, it's situational. Not ideal, but it's wrong to say he closes every game. Sometimes it makes sense, like against Orlando where he was playing a very good game. Agree that Ham has been underwhelming. His "facts over feelings" doesn't seem to be put in practice every time. There's still too much usage on Russ, the weird guards lineups that have been killing us, the reluctance to give Reaves the starting gig, the disappearance of Troy Brown from the rotation core... There's still Vogel vibes and some "political decisions" that I was hoping we wouldn't see with Ham. It's a pity to see
Probably the two best coaches of previous seasons are Udoka and Kerr. They were rookies and took great teams to success. I don't understand that rookie take. If someone is good, is good, regardless of age. Especially when the NBA is filled with old bums who have no ability to coach modern NBA like the Van Gundys, Thibodeau, MDA and so on
