Wasn't Ham part of the roster construction though? Didn't he say that he wants basketball players, not specialists? Those metrics show that the players he chose in collaboration Pelinka are negatives. He also stated that he doesn't want LeBron or AD to be playing playoff minutes in November when AD played 40+ last game. LeBron is averaging 36 mpg.
Man I tell you .... I think I am more pissed at Ham than anything about all of the "issues" that have been problems so far this season with the team. The fact he said in interview after interview before the season started that positions (assuming he meant starting positions) and playing time would be WON by fair competition, and then he turns right around and continues to start Beverly and Schroder together .... especially since Brown was playing well when he was starting (and with the same consistent minutes in the starting lineup given those two guys would probably be doing even better by now, just like Lonnie), and while not being a big wing those two guys are midgets in comparison and not any better shooters by much if at all. If Brown had the green light Beverly has he'd probably score more than him and shoot as well from deep. If not Brown, and even more ideally Reaves should start over one of those midgets, though I get he likes bringing him off the bench with Russ. That's for starters and nowhere near as bad as the idiotic midget ball ball 3 small guard lineups that no one in Lakers Nation thinks is a good idea except HIM, plus the horrible +/- they generate. And the hole we get into at the start of games and the start of 3rd quarters typically by having BevMo and Shroder out there together vs Reaves or Brown in place of one of them. How effing blind and oblivious to the bad results of continuing to do that can he be? Way to keep your word coach. Jacka**!!
Brown shouldn't have lost his spot. He's been neutered as a backup. They were rattling off the comp numbers on a pod this week, there's a stark difference. Walker has also been a lot less effective when he's having to play with Bev and DS as the lead guards. He doesn't get to freestyle and create instead is left to catch and shoot opportunities.
But there was this Progress. Kept Bev to 21 minutes (21 too many for my liking) but that's close to his ability at this point vs when he creeps up to 30+ minutes. Nunn only 1 minute in the garbagest of garbage time. Gave Christie real time. And sat Russ in the clutch 4th Q stretch. Those are positive adjustments.
It has taken way more games than I would have thought but maybe Ham is starting to figure out how to close. Now we need a starting line up with Austin in it. Till then coach is still struggling. Plus having him standing in the corner much of the time is pretty bad coaching as well. One step at a time I guess.
The AD and Bevs and injuries plus Schroeder falling out helped but I thought his lineups we're good tonight. No more time for politics
I was expecting us to quit on today's end of b2b and rest LeBron, Lonnie and Reaves at least. Doesn't seem to be the case, not sure if it's good or not
Booker is out tonight. I wonder if we play Lebron to try and steal this game? We'll also see if Reaves and Walker can go
Yep, that's so great news. I think we have to go full force. Ayton may come back though, participated in shootaround. AD would probably eat his soft a** but he can hurt us now
i understand lbj but why Brick? give him the green light, who knows he might turn out to be mvp brick for that 1 gm
^ We're getting ready to trade him. I'm kidding, I don't have a clue why he's not playing. He's not that banged up.
