He probably should have, or maybe the end of the fourth we should have had Walker for some fire power and the threat of outside shooting. But then again as abeer said he scores those first two baskets for us in OT. He is not in good in clutch time though at all.

but he scored on that exact coverage by getting contact with the big and then exploding away. the first one he got brown on his hip and upfaked, realized no help was coming and just put it in. feel like he should have made them make him miss one of those before resorting to the three. i think the next possession he took a three from the 45 pretty early in the clock.

yeah, i tried to tell the vogel haters all year that scheming around russ is hard and that lebron prefers to pound and chuck with a lead.

yeah, still not sure he has to go. i'm totally open to him going, but nunn/bev need to go. as i said in another thread, my hope is that rob is playing the two packages against each other in the trade market and will take the best offer he gets when it surfaces.

Yeah he put his body in the center and got a nice layup but two issues: it's still hard thing to do as if you don't time it right it's an easy block for the center and most importantly it's Russell Westbrook: throughout his career this dude plays out of control and it's just who he is.

Totally respect the guy for what he's done and is capable of doing. The Lakers just don't have enough talent or experienced coaching to use him properly - 6th man who doesn't play at the end of games

I was too frustrated with last nights game to pay any attention to post-game interviews/reports, so I gotta ask…

Did he ever address why he was wearing green shoes? Against the C Bags?

Like I recall Lebron wearing some green Christmas themed shoes before. He still got heat for it, but it wasn’t against the C Bags so it wasn’t THAT big a deal. Lebron has at least expressed that he understands the historic rivalry and acted the part of hating the C Bags.

But wearing green AGAINST the C Bags? Unless there was some personal reason, or maybe even some mind games he was trying to play, I can’t forgive that. Practically begging to be traded and have the fans turn against him…

I'd rather let Russ attack the damn paint at the end of games, than see Lebron pound out the shot clock and launch an off balance jumper. Westbrook would be at least trying to get AD the ball.

couldn't get AD involved in OT because if he screened they'd just sit in his lap. it's why his only touch was beyond the arc. still think if they're going to guard russ with a center, have russ attack the center and AD crash the boards against whatever non-center is out there. maybe lebron, too.

my first choice would just be to not play russ in those situations, though.

Aaarggh: they don't have enough shooting at the end of games and you have guys on dead legs.

When the guy guarding the corner 3 can play free safety it makes it extremely difficult to score when you also have good defenders. The roll man can be shaded or you can hard show on the PnR ball handler.

Throw in you have guys who played for an entire quarter: your offense is going to suck. Teams aren't stupid they've already adjusted to the short PnR game that worked against the Bucks by packing the paint even more

That's because we spam Lebron/AD pick and roll and he's useless off ball. His man just mucks up the middle. One option would be to have him run pick and roll with AD but then the defense will just put a center on him and back off giving him a jumper.

    SHIP HIM OUT.
Any player you can’t have on the floor when it counts DOES NOT DESERVE TO RUN THE SHOW in the Purple n Gold.
I honestly can’t believe that any Laker fan would want this guy on the team next season.

While I dislike Brick more than anyone here, that premise is incorrect.

To wit, during the Kobe-Pau days we used to finish games with Kobe-Lamar-Pau, but started with Kobe-Pau-Bynum. Would you ship Bynum's a** too?

and i wouldn't call what russ is doing "running the show". he's pretty quietly been transformed into a 25mpg backup pg. again, final step is he gets used to sitting in crunch time. and that may not be something he can handle. we can move on if so.

In total this season the Lakers are +28 with Russ off the court, vs -71 with him on the court. The highest paid player on the team is an anchor, but as said he shows flashes throughout the game to fool people into thinking things are working out.

I really, reeeeeeeeally hope this is posturing, because if it’s true the people running this team are simpletons. It doesn’t matter if we are better, if he is better, we aren’t WINNING. This franchise used to be about winning, not moral victories, pats on the back, warm feelings, and participation trophies. Is Jeanie the owner, or the team mom handing out hugs.
