Russ has proven over and over again you can't trust him on offense or defense to close games and Ham fell for it again because he was hot against the Pacers second unit. All that joking around and the Lakers decided they had won the game including the coaching staff it seems
yeah they thought they won 9 minutes in the 4th, they think they are a championship team but actually a lottery team.
I think Ham's not sure who he wants to finish games beyond AD/Lebron/Reaves. I think you have to go with Lonnie after that but then it gets tricky No way in hell it should be Russ so probably till a trade happens: Dumpkoff?
a 17 point lead in the 4th at home against middling competition just can't be lost. it can't. it means you're not a winning team.
Ham has seemingly played a big part in the Portland loss and this one. First time coach I understand, but something's are just common sense.
yeah, again, vogel over here counting his money and chuckling. "oh, why don't you run plays in the 4th" lol?
Both similar issues: -lack of prompt timeouts - just a real killer to have AD ready to go and you just let the run continue -Russ to close: looking back the possession that really hurt was the Russ bad pullup, offensive board by Lebron, Russ gets the ball against the scramble blows fairly easy layup. He was even worse in the Portland loss -not trusting the young guy (Reaves) to initiate on offense and using either Lebron/AD as the screener. -Overall lack of good personnel usage: I mean if you're going to play a guy like Dennis at least use him well: he's not a C and shoot guy - try to force Turner onto him and let him or AD feast after that
Coach and veterans let this get away. They should have known better than to do all that premature celebrating crap. Ham, Lebron, AD, somebody should have pulled them all together and said knock that S... off. Then more odd player usage from Ham. Reaves needs to control the offense during the fourth quarter. He understands one thing the others can't seem to grasp. Get the ball to AD and we win. It took many idiotic, foolish things to lose this game but here we are.
only if "we'll see" is the beginning of "we'll see both of them on the bench because reaves and walker are the starting guards".
I like that starting group until I think of just how small that second unit would be. Ham's 4 guard lineup
whole second unit never sees the floor together, though. walker reaves brown lebron AD sub schroder, russ, and bryant (for reaves, walker, AD) in at 6 minutes or something like that? then bring AD and reaves back for lebron and brown? wenyen gets in there somewhere? i'm tired.
