He wanted the ball but he was double teamed and no one would give it to him. Those guys were guards with the ball in their hands. Not a good analog for a big.

They had Fox double teaming him without the ball. When they tried to force it into him he was triple teamed and had to swing the ball.

It's tough to run your offense through a big man with no shooter the opposition respects.

They should seriously consider trading him.

    We're going nowhere.

I’m sure they will do well with that considering they can’t even make a deal for Russ’ $47 million expiring.

Yeah... And when he was double teamed, he swang it and did what? Nothing. He didn't reposition himself. He didn't come to the middle to perhaps shift the D a little. He just took it and stayed in the post, doing nothing. 40mil well-spent.

It's never the second banana fault.

They could make a deal for Russ.

I just think we need to start looking ahead and gathering assets.

Am I confident that Rob will make the best deal out there? Nope. But it is what it is....

They haven’t made a deal. That’s the problem. Russ is the guy who needed to move and they haven’t done it.

But they could make a deal. There's been a few different deals reported we all know about.

Whatever, though. That's for another thread.

On topic, AD wasn't the issue tonight. I can totally see him asking out...

i think it's time. i do think lebron's injury timing was just horrible, as these are games we could get, and sometimes you just need a couple wins to get out of a hole. but everybody's lost faith already, you can see it. hell, ham lost faith two games ago.

I'm not looking to trade AD but could we really suck more? I thought we had the suck o meter pretty much sprung. If we just drew straws and threw out random line ups I'm not sure we could suck more. I would only trade AD for one reason. That would be to make a contender almost unbeatable so Boston doesn't win #18 cause it don't look like we are winning it for awhile...lol.

AD has supporters including me. I think fans just want the team to pick a direction and some feel like if we’re going to stink then might as well blow it up and get something for him before he walks.

I’ve been arguing that we should build up the best team we can around him and LeBron for awhile now so my preference remains keeping him.

but I won’t act like I don’t get the frustration and trade talk out there.

i didn't see the game. his stat line looks good, and the screenshots and write ups i've seen seem to explain pretty well why he's not able to just take over the game like people want. if you could just sit two people in giannis's lap and the other three in the paint and not pay, you'd get similar results.

i'm open to trading AD at this point, too, but it would be among the last options, maybe THE last option.

the team's ineptitude has only strengthened my stance against moving future picks, though. just don't. not only will we want them for better trade opportunities, we might very well be very bad and need those lotto tickets.

I have been fine with trading the picks if the overall deal makes sense. This summer Kyrie and Curry/and or Harris for Russ and someone made sense to me. I would have done a deal with Utah and gotten the 2023 pick back plus three players - Bogdanovic, Conley, Gay or Beasley. Just before the season when it looked like we were going to wait on Westbrook I was pretty much willing to overpay Indy just to salvage this year with Lebron and AD. We knew the roster was incomplete and basically built with a Russ trade in mind. I would have groused about the overpay but at least it would have made sense.

Currently this FO looks like they are content on punting the season. I feel like it’s a shame and a wasted opportunity. I would still trade the picks if the right deal came about but I think that ship has sailed.

AD has developed into a first half monster and second half smurf.
