Firing Frank Vogel for a darker Frank Vogel. Good work.

C’mon now … Cranjis has counted like (80) offensive plays / sets where everyone was bit****g about Frank running 0 just give the ball to LeBron last 3 seasons.

The way many of them are playing they don't look like NBA players. I would be thrilled if Ham started Gabriel and Reaves and stuck to it. I'm one of Austin's biggest supporters. I'm even good with Troy. Thinking we are going to be competitive or win many games with Jones and Beverly starting together just seems crazy to me. I've followed Matt's career and know he can play is why I used him as an example. It in no way would send the wrong message to the team. Matt plays hard and if the other guys are not getting it done give someone else a shot. The message would actually be beneficial. Leave no stone unturned. Fortunately Russ bailed us out last night. Otherwise it would have been not just a loss but another embarrassing loss. I don't really want to count on that happening often. Maybe this is a turning point for him. My point is at 0-5 and not playing well shake up the line up for a couple of games. I would even use Max. He can defend and shoot. Coaching you can't be afraid to stir the pot. It is not a position for the weak of heart.

I get your points but am not a fan of Ryan seeming to think he has to launch a shot every time the ball comes to him. If he could tone that impulse down to when he actually has a good look it would help.

That will come with playing time and realizing he isn't going to have two or three minutes to make an impression. That does get pretty old quick. I don't really care who it is as long as we have reasonable lineups. My only knock on Frank was his weird lineups and now it is more of the same. We have limited players and need to use them as best we can.

I think it's too soon to go there and consider it overreacting.
This team never played together and they are still learning a lot of things. The 3 players I said are ahead of the pecking order, plus JTA and Nunn (and Schroder). If you give big minutes to the guys you mention, a lot of these will not get a chance

agree with toklat's overarching point, disagree on ryan specifically. he shouldn't even be on the roster, imo. he and swider can go get lots of tickets on pop-a-shot whilst lamenting duncan robinson killing their chance at a big payday.

Pecking orders are for hen houses. That thinking is why Russ was starting when he shouldn't have been. Basketball you do what you can to win. Status quo and playing it safe is one strategy but never been mine. Who knows, maybe we will run off a few wins in a row and right the ship. I'm wrong as often as I'm right or more so. We all want the same thing.

"We welcome any and all scorers. If you can score, we'll work you out tomorrow."
    -Coach Darvin Ham, October 2022.

Then you can sit on the bench and watch the brick layers go to work...lol.

My pecking order is based on performance and talent.
I understand you follow Ryan for years but he's just not good enough now based on what he have shown. Maybe around February that can make sense if we are desperate

Anyway, I'm fine in giving him a few minutes every game or so and see if he gets hot

Yes, he is no long term solution. Just a roll of the dice to jump start us maybe.

if they running sets, why do we inly see ball in brons hands while everyone else stands around waiting for bron to do something?

Because that's what he said he was going to do after the last game prior. (stop trusting the rest of the clankers)

But truthfully I thought he held back from it most of the game and most of these games so far, trying to play within what Ham wants.

i tried to tell you this last year, but wanting to do things and doing things are different. i promise ham (and vogel before him) want different things to happen than are happening.

you have to have the personnel to make your system work. i was worried about the 4-1 when we hired ham (check the receipts), not because it's a bad idea but because i didn't see how we'd execute it. and i knew lebron would break it off to get his numbers eventually.

i think this is why vogel just leaned into the lebron offense. you're going to end up there regardless. just play defense and rely on his brilliance then.

i think it's part of how we're on the second coach who's like "maybe lebron at center?!" they don't know how to make an offense work to his strengths as he ages while putting a defense on the floor.

he should have taken a pay cut instead of an extension. all parties are at fault there and will reap the 10th place finish in front of us for the next couple years.
