I already told you that if he was All NBA 1st Team Defense that we might have won 3 more games. Pretty straight to the point. I'm not sure why you keep coming back with the same stuff.

thats not even in the realm of possibilities....and his defensive lapse like that highlight is one of the major factor that leads to break down in defense, awful take is awful

I understand what you are getting at but being a first team defender would mean that Russ had played hard and likely would have inspired teammates. Who knows what last season could have been with a more inspired team. Team sport, team inspired. That is why a bad attitude is so detrimental. I can't say how many games we would have won but it sure would have been easier to watch. Hopefully that is what we are getting ready to see.

Not sure if he would have inspired the old heads or not. Might have caught less flack from the fans though.

Russ hasn’t looked so good so far. Still just not a great fit.

he looked really good in the first and like last year's russ in the second quarter, i think.

another really bad missed boxout that led to a dunk, too. man, you've been playing for 15 years as a pro. put a freaking body on your guy.

The three shot looked like the set shot from practice, I wonder if he sticks with it or reverts back. We were quite good in the first quarter, Russ included. We still finished the half up by 7 again.

I’m curious if we’ll have that translate over a full game when we have real rotations going on.

Yeah. If we get the first quarter guy then some of the worries about the team go away. I think Ham is having a good impact on him and hope Russ can give us some of that during the year.

    First quarter was excellent.

    After that? Not so much.

    Set shot looks better.
Still horrible shot selection (mostly out of control at the rim).
    He’s more engaged on defense.
He still plays clueless team defense (getting back cut, ball watching, not boxing out, etc).

Overall, he’s a net positive so far. But I think his role should be as 6moy, or traded.

$47M for this type of player is such a handicap to the team. :/

Decent Russ is an impediment to the team, because he’ll play and he’ll miss defensive assignments/ TOs at the most inappropriate time and worse keeping HBK and Nunn out of the closing line up.

Lots of opportunities with different lineups other than with LeBron in them for Russ to try to be like Russ of old. Problem is a lot of those pedal to the metal drives toward the rim from half court and beyond are unsafely pushing the ball up and subject to too high a rate of turnovers. Agree with Kareem above. Just always going to be on the ragged edge of him doing not smart things at the worst possible times.
