Yeah. The better the team gels in the preseason the better off we will be. We immediately get tested with our early season schedule.

we did that whole “yeah we’re going to kick into gear next game” thing all last season. This teams needs to come ready to play every game and take them all seriously

I agree with this. I think this preseason is more important to us than most. We need to be as different from last season as possible. Russ did do a few good things early but that play did look terrible. I can't tell how much Ham believes what he is saying about Russ or if he is just really trying to sell to Indiana that we are serious about this line up. Time will tell. Russ did seem better attitude wise compared to last season.

You act like you didn't see that type of defense from the entire team last season.

It seems like everyone is putting their best foot forward and saying the right things. That’s good. The key to maintaining that IMO is having a decent record. If we can come out of the early schedule with a decent record then maybe the team will be alright and can ride Ham’s enthusiasm through the whole season.

Telling you all now..Russ might get traded eventually, but it won't be to Indiana for Myles Turner and Buddy Hield. A month from now the we could have had Gordon Hayward articles will be popping up lol.

These dudes can't believe that they got it wrong, so now they are down to posting the almost trades! I mean damn..they are wringing every last drip out of this Westbrook talk.

We’ve learned these guys don’t have the actual “flip the switch” ability they think they have.

it's 50/50 he's here in March, imo, maybe 60/40. but yeah, i think indy has sailed, as has utah. and yes, charlotte has another bad year (likely), and maybe it's hayward/washington/1st for russ in february. any contender has a star go down for the year might be thinking now's a good time to cash out on some expensive secondary players and retool. or, unfortunately, maybe lebron or AD goes down again and we end up glad we didn't trade everything that wasn't nailed down to finish 11th again.

Anything might happen. I'm still hoping Coach Ham can pull off the miracle and we don't have to trade him. I haven't seen or heard of any trade that we come out ahead on. I'm happy with developing our young guys and seeing what happens. I thought AD looked good and had an aura about him. Despite some mental lapses on defense Russ was engaged. For one preseason game we got blown out in there were some bright spots. Should be an entertaining season one way or the other. I'm just ready to finally see some basketball.

aww the "whatboutism".....no the entire team did not play that sort of defense like Brick, they were great but they certainly weren't at Bricks effort

If Russ was 1st Team All Defense last season, we might have won 3 more games. So..I think the whole discussion is a moot point.

It depends..if they are injured, coming back from injury and haven't played much together. The switch doesn't exist.

This right here is the question for the ages. What to do for dinner? To cook or not to cook? That is the question. Or the answer is takeout.

If we are still talking about a Russ trade in March the season has been a failure.
    So?

Why would we be talking about a Russ trade in March? Deadline is in Feb.

Because no trade was made and we're still talking about what we could have done.
