I'd like to just see Russ embrace whatever role Ham assigns him on the team and commit himself on defense. There are still fit issues but I do think he can help the team and increase his value by just focusing on those things and not worrying about putting up stats.

agree, but replace ham with vogel and it's sort of what we were all hoping for last year. we know how that went.

Completely agree. I have no expectation of that happening especially after his interviews after the season and parting with his agent.

Can't have Westbrook back on the team after that exit interview. He publicly threw his teammates, coaching staff and front office under the bus. Anyone that's played sports knows, you keep that sh** in house.

With the Knicks Utah looking for a third team we need to move Russ now. It’s a great opportunity to get real players back. Indy as well if they are willing to be reasonable but seems like they are not. We need shooting.

Just look at the bright side guys. We could have Caruso right now instead of Westbrook. Imagine how much worse off we'd be in that scenario.

We have guys that can shoot now. We seem to keep looking for this " knock down" three point specialist. I'm not sure that's necessarily some magic potion. Danny Green was supposed to be that guy..fail..we still won a chip losing only 1 game a series in the West. The Clippers had all these " shooters " last season and didn't even make the playoffs. Monk was the best shooter we've had in years, and we were terrible.

I'm not knocking the idea of having guys that can hit open shots from deep, but I prefer guys that can do a good job of just creating their own shots and are capable on catch and shoots.

For me..I'd prefer a guy like Jordan Clarkson over Buddy Hield or Bogdonavic, Jordan can knock down 3's but he is better at putting the ball on the floor and breaking down a defense and scoring or opening up looks for other players. I think we have enough shooting as is, I'd like one more creator to go with Lebron, Russ and Nunn. I'm interested into what type of game Walker has in that regard.

On a scale of 1-10, what's your confidence level in Rob Pelinka pulling off a trade without using all our assets?

Caruso took the money, we were already over the salary cap before the Westbrook trade. It's not a given that we would have matched Chicago anyway, we still needed a PG. Alex is not a starting caliber PG.

This. I'd add that if you play for the Lakers, you're shooting magically declines.

    5. but if he does, it will be underwhelming (think fournier and derrick rose instead of hield and turner).

again, though, it's possible that teams refusing to deal with us could end up helping us, long-term. sometimes the best deals are the ones you don't make, right?

i think after kyrie was off the table, we would have done the rumored indy trade if it was actually on the table. but it sounds like their plan is to just keep upping the ask (probably as partial revenge on rob for the PG fiasco). so they're out to me. and they were actually the last trade partner that could get me thinking about giving up all the assets. any player or combination of players we get from ny, utah, or SA is not worth all the assets, so i have a new bar:

any russ trade is successful to me if it

    a) nets two players who should be able to give us 20mpg this year
    b) gives us at least some expiring money to use at this year's dealine
    c) involves losing a lotto-protected 1st or less

if i were rob, i'd basically make this known to utah, ny, and SA, and tell them to call me if they need me.

I kind of like Russ throwing shots. Somebody needed to say some of that s***. Vogel sucked all season, Rob put together a crap roster of over the hill vets that didn't put out much effort without James and Davis on the court. And again Lebron and AD failed to live up to their number 1 obligation...show up for work and lead by example. We had frigging guys on their cell phones during games!! Where the hell was our leadership? It seemed like everybody was to damn lackadaisical about how that season went. I don't mind some frustration and passion being expressed over that crap. I wished more of that came from Lebron though.

I don't really understand why they gave up Murray. LOL..If anyone thinks Pop is going to be some kind of savior for the Lakers in this situation...put that pipe down ASAP.

SA has to do something. no way pop goes into the season with literally zero pgs. and they have to get to the salary floor.

i'm going to be pissed when they get mike conley while we're still playing russ.

They can have Conley..he's no difference maker, I'm not sure he's any better than Nunn or Beverley at this point. Similar production on cheaper contracts. They might pick up Dennis.

"We had a s*** roster per you plus your 600 posts about LeBron and AD playing only 21 games together, plus Nunn out all year, plus AD couldn't shoot for bleep when he did play PLUS Russ stunk up the floor most of the season, played crap defense and had a bad attitude for what was asked of him .... but Vogel "sucked all season".

    BS take.

I might make a thousand more posts about it too. 27 and 21 games is BS production from your two main guys period. Yeah Vogel sucked, hell he sucked for most of his last 6 seasons as a HC. He caught magic in a bottle during the bubble but I think Jason Kidd or Tyrone Lue or Monty Williams could have done the same damn thing. Dude coached his last two seasons here on " Just wait until we get Lebron and AD back"! He didn't have a clue otherwise. Now granted 27 and 21 games ain't gonna get it done.

That doesn't give him a blanket pass, I totally believe Westbrook. He said he never had a single sit down with Vogel about his role on the team. Damn sure looked like it to me. To hell with Frank..glad we moved on.
