Thats what I mean by it being his MO. It isn’t to win titles, it’s to win trades.

Then he doesn’t know what to do with the assets he hoards.

This has been one of the most boring offseasons in recent memory. Oh.well..it's almost time to obsess over whether the Raiders are going to suck or not, this season for me.

Why does Twitter pick about these obscure stats and think they matter? Any NBA player can go on a 10 games run, that doesn’t change the stinky year round information.

Vogel's fault. Duh. If Vogel let Russ be Russ, I'm sure he thinks he would've been MVP and we would've won a ship.

what does that 10-game sample mean about the rest of his season?

it's weird that russ is missing that he's in the "that's a promising 10-game sample" portion of his career. this happens at the beginning and at the end.

Please stop trying to convince Laker fans that Russ can somehow be good on this team.

I literally lol'd when I read the plan (if he's still here by the start of training camp) is to have him stand in the corner and shoot 3s. For christ sake just send his *** home if it gets to that.

C’mon now …. it’s to use his still elite athleticism in good matchups as a point guard when LeBron is off the court as much as possible, and him to cut and set screens like you know other competent guards and score some points in those useful types of scoring and lastly to use it on Defense on ball and with his head not up his a** off ball and team D. And contribute to team first winning basketball.

I can’t imagine what the new agent has sold him on if other than that and the same things the last agent told him. If he ever expects to even sniff a TP MLE again. And no coachability or ego problems. And run to the corner if can’t stand …. and shoot 3s.

So like just stand in the corner and shoot 3s ….. yeah LOL.

well, he'll be saving his energy for lock down defense at the point of attack, so this makes complete sense when you think about it.

i think that's part of the plan, tbh. they've made it public that russ's role isn't going to be what he wants. russ leaned heavily into "they told me i got to do whatever i wanted!", so this year's response is making sure everyone knows that's NOT the deal. i don't believe for a second that anyone promised russ he'd get to be him, btw. or least when they said it, they didn't realize that meant not playing defense, setting screens, boxing out, etc.

so they've cut the narrative off at the knees, and russ either buys into his role or goes to the bench/home. it's good that the lakers took control of the story this time, imo.

Am sure as well, being buds from way back and now on same staff again, that Handy laid out in gory detail to Ham what it was like to coach Russ last year and how intractable he was along with the brain farts, bricks, ridiculously bad defense and blown layups.
