I'm sadly at a place that I don't even care right now. I don't ever recall ever even seeing him play for Miami, but it looks like he has a nice shot. My bag will remain over my head as a Lakers fan until the ship turns around. Color me skeptical about a lot more than just BBN. (Bone Bruise Nunn)
He could be a huge role player, can create offense, go 1on1, play some D, good for a block (edit: correction, a steal) a game, isn't an amazing PG, he's not Rondo as a passer but can be a combo guard who guards the speedy PGs. God knows we need one of those. I hope we don't have to trade him for an older player like Harris/Curry. Fingers crossed he doesn't bruise a hair follicle.
on paper, he's the right kind of pg on a team with a point-forward like lebron. he can handle and make plays just well enough to get you into a set and drive a pick and roll, but he's not a floor general. i know we won't/can't do it, but if russ wasn't a dip****, starting nunn and bringing russ off the bench would be really interesting.
Starting Nunn and Bryant would actually balance out our team quite a bit alongside Lebron and AD. It would also free up Russ to run the second unit. His ego would just never accept it. Truthfully I get it, he was an mvp, a perennial all star and being relegated to a 6th man is tough to swallow.
Yep, it's definitely the best we could use him. Hopefully Ham finds a way through the rotation schemes to have him in that type of role. I'm getting convinced that he will be there in game 1 of the season
its another contract yr for him, so wouldn't surprise me if he plays 70+ gms and bounce once he gets a big deal somewhere else
russ isn't motivated by contracts, imo. it's pride. and it has been and will be his downfall. he feels like if he can't show he can do the triple double, then he can't be valuable.
Contract is pride at this time because if he plays like last year nobody gives him more than 10mil and that's embarrassing
my point is that he doesn't care about that, either. he'd rather play for the minimum in a starring role that allowed him to be himself, i think. and if he can't get the latter, he simply won't play. we'll find out soon.
The fact that he's STILL not doing 5 on 5 is why he's trade fodder at this point. This is the latest update from Buha
what I just read was if we ditch Westbrook, we may need to rely heavily on Nunn's ball handling capability. Does this make sense when a bone bruise can sideline a guy for a year at a time?
yeah...i mean i get not wanting to hurt yourself in a pickup game after missing a year, but...nothing at all? either he doesn't trust the knee or it still hurts, neither of which is good at all.
