Chicago is about to get bounced in 5 games. With all those multiple winning plays against Giannis. That's just what it is, now for the Chicago Bulls, his 10 million dollar contract is fine. For the Los Angeles Lakers, taking a 35 million dollar cap hit in order to resign Alex Caruso was a bad idea, and I'm glad we didn't do it. The argument isn't about his abilities on defense, it's whether that alone negates his offensive shortcomings. On the right team perhaps, Not on ours.

Well that's a bit unfair, he's not supposed to win alone against the defending champions.

We clearly disagree. I think he's actually THE type of player we need alongside LeBron and AD. It would also allow to prepare the future if we get a scorer (let's say Mitchell, McCollum or Beal) with AD. He's a great fit with any of them because he can organize the offense for a few spurts and be the anchor on defense in the perimeter. Specially when most guards now are superstars and big scorers so you need a guard that can hold them, allowing you to have then another guard who's your go-to guy.

His fit with Russ was arguable. You would lose a ton of shooting/spacing with our big 3 and him. We bet on Russ and failed miserably. Now it's up to the same people that made that decision to clean it up

Should have paid him the $9 million.

We got cheap and we shouldn't have with an older LBJ on the roster.

    All good.

    It is what it is...

Wish him well in Chicago. Lonzo too. Back to the Lakers, I'd rather flip Westbrook for size, not another guard. If not, use that 47 million dollars in cap space , to go and get more size after next season.

This isn't a Lakers discussion nor is it a WB thread.

Why don't you keep to the topic?

Because I was talking about Caruso. Why I wouldn't pay him and take a 35 million dollar cap hit. I was responding to the person that was responding to me.It didn't involve you..Do you mind?

    Yes, I do.

Take your BS narratives to the WB thread before derailing another thread.

    Get it, "Stan"...

    yes it does.

    no, it wouldn't have.

    offensive counting stats are overstated.

Yeh well...I'm just glad that we can debate it, with him playing in a Chicago Bulls uniform. Sound move by Rob IMO. I believe that Austin will be a better all around player than Alex in 2 years. (maybe 1)I think we'll keep him when his extension comes up. He was great in his role while he was here though. We moved on...next man up.

Lebron didn't want him on the team because he's pigmentally challenged. Everyone knows that. He also refused to sign with Klutch, so he was a goner no matter what.

    Just starting crap.
Quality player and miss what he brought to the table.
He gave hope to YMCA players everywhere

I like that 3 guys 6'10 or better lineup the Bucks started. I hope we move in that direction next season. The death of the bigman was prematurely announced.

that the supposed "yankees of the nba" let a fan favorite and advanced stats darling just walk in the middle of his prime because they were cheap?

would love someone to ask rob in public how he feels about this choice a year later. just for the squirming.

Klutch factor as well. THT over Caruso and now Pippen over McClung.

With my usual disclaimer I like THT and I like Pippen. Hope they both advance in our system or get value for us in a trade at some point.

But THT immediately turns out to have been the wrong selection. And I am willing to bet the same will happen with Mac, sooner with the smart GS pickup in a great system ..... than happens with Pippen (toward goal of 3rd o 2nd string NBA rotation player)(If happens at all [with either] ... as many say. Not me) (simply because of the physical tools and athleticism with vertical impact advantage of Mac between the 2 relatively short point guards). But I can see Pip being really good skills and leadership and balls wise departments too if he can shoot at this level, and no doubt takes his formal PG skills to the next level over even next 6 months. With health of course.

the killer is it wasn't either/or with THT/caruso. could easily have both.

and i'm not sure THT was a klutch/lebron thing, especially given that it seemed like lebron loved caruso, too.

i think a) they made it into an either/or artificially and b) they felt like THT might have star potential.
