Russell Westbrick Discussion: Clipper Gonna Clip

Brick played 14 years in the league, so I'm assuming this was his guy for his whole career. He will be entering free agency in a year, it sounds like he wants out, play for a team where he isn't 3rd fiddle on a team, put up triple double numbers and get one more big pay day type contract. Brick probably doesn't want to settle for a smaller role during a contract year if he plans on playing for a few more years.

 

Can’t tell if Rich Paul and Lebron are giving lip service to Russ here? Implying that the ex-agent was cold in how they threw Russ under the bus, over what may have been a money dispute?

 

The hell is going on? Im waiting for Klutch to sign him, a statement, that it was all his former agent fault. Bron and AD to embrace him, Russ saying he loves to be a Laker... and another f***ed up season. I'll be SOOOO out.

 

Russ wants out and we want him gone. Just a matter of time IMO.

Marbury only made $2m-ish a year from contract, Faried has the highest contract at $4m a year. But it's off the court where he can make a mint. Steph got endorsement deals with a with property developer, Red Bull, Casio and 361 Degrees footwear while over there. He also did an autobiography, a movie, and there was a musical about him. He got a f***ing statue. Russ would love a statue. That'd do wonders for his ego. Nowhere in the US will ever give Russ a statue.

 

So Russ wants out of the Lakers, or it sure sounds like it to me. How ironic that this is his best move as a Laker, and it's not even on the court.

i was confused at first, but my thought is they're responding only to the part about russ being first ballot hofer who will prove it again. iow, they're agreeing he's being disrespected by...well, people like us.

it might resonate with lebron, in particular, as he's fallen out of most top-5 lists after the past couple of seasons, and people like me question whether he's worth a max contract at this point. in his mind, that's an absolutely insane and insulting take.
