Somebody needs to inject a dose of reality into this thread. I wish and hope for what's best for the Lakers. I haven't seen a single Westbrook trade idea that's made sense to me to date. It would seem that the FO feels the same way.

 

You can’t invoke that FO feeling the same way about not trading WB when you said a couple days ago you didn’t think they were trying hard or he would be gone by now, and wouldn’t agree earlier that they were trying to trade him at the deadline this year. They’re trying like hell but just are not going to get screwed. No points for you.

Let me put it this way then. Jeannie Buss doesn't want to trade Russell Westbrook. It that clear enough for you? No we aren't trying like hell to trade him at all. If that was the case, he wouldn't be here. She kind of made that point clear back during the Vogel on the hot seat thing to me. She said "I don't know what we have, I haven't seen the team envisioned play yet". Everyone took that as directed solely at Frank's situation, but it applied to Westbrook too. I'm sure she has her reasons. Nobody wants to trade with the Lakers without taxing us hard. We draw stars that demand a trade or get FA. Russ demanded that trade, like AD. The optics aren't there to jettison a high profile player like him, when your two best players only played in 21 games together all season. What is the next guy think? If Bron and AD go down, the blame is going to be on me? I'm forcing my way out just to be made a potential scapegoat? Meh..we haven't really tried to move this guy IMO. All you hear is the same old lame a** trade proposals from 6 months ago. They just keep getting reposted, if that's your idea of working hard on a trade..whatever.
Jeanie isn't buying him out or allowing him to be sat out either. If you believe that's a possibility, I have 20 acres of prime beach front property in Arizona for sale. I told you back in December..Westbrook isn't going anywhere, nothing has changed at all.

You have me confused. I have a couple of Russ trades I like. That doesn't make the ones floated already any less wack. You guys can keep focusing on Russell Westbrook and I'll keep poking holes in the premise presented. Because for me it's all about James and Davis first and last. The other stuff is a sideshow. They deserved the credit for the chip, and they deserve the blame for the last two seasons. Availability is a very big part of the equation IMO. If I'm the owner of this team, if they play in 30 games or less again this season. They both gotta go.

 

He's mentally weak: when (and IMO not if) he starts shooting bad at home, the boo birds will be out in force and his performance will go down.

The Randle/Westbrook swap makes sense in this way as well as the NY crowd hates Randle and it got to him just like the LA crowd turned on Westbrook
