that second part is what i've been saying all along, including naming basically all of those players in my fake trades.

my personal opinion is still that i'd rather break the salary up into smaller parts--particularly if these are usable players (even for 15mpg). we need bodies who aren't ancient vet mins or g-leaguers.

    bertans/thj/powell

robinson/lowry (latter is super risky, though)

randle/rose/noel (knicks get off a ton of future salary)

brogdon/hield may be the worst option of the bunch, for both teams.

Sounds like we're getting past the nonsense and more realistic ideas are coming to the forefront.

Same thought. Bring in some usable pieces who fit what we want to do.

He's just got to go: he's got negative value but get some overpriced vets and this team still has a chance to be something special.

I think as we get further away from the games: it's becoming quite clear what a disaster Russ the player was and not just about losing guys like KPC, AC, Kuz. He was actively a detriment to this team on both offense and defense. He's an anchor holding a speedboat from reaching cruising speed let alone hitting the peddle to the metal The anchor needs to be cut

The trade was a rock just under the surface of the water, marked with a buoy no less, that the Lakers’ Donzi ran smack into in broad daylight last year. LOL … Cookie will like that analogy. LeBron drunk at the wheel.

was just coming to post this.
Yes, I think the best thing for Russ would be to return home to OKC.

Westbrook for Derrick Favors, newly acquired Green and a draft pick or two… who says no?

okc. when they spent part of their cash on green, my hopes there dimmed. but they were always going to bleed us on such a move anyway.

Yeah. I feel like the move would have to be based on emotion rather than purely for the team. The city does like him though and that could translate to tickets. At least that would be part of my pitch if I were Rob and the front office.

Thing is: Presti would likely attempt to work Rob over.

    It won't happen.

    I wish it would, though.

Agreed. Presti (and a lot other GMs) smell blood. I do like that the front office seems to be standing firm on not getting fleeced. We will see who blinks first.

i just don't think we're attaching picks to move westbrook unless a very valuable player or two is coming back. for example, if some sort of multi-team deal that has okc eat russ and we get an allstar caliber player (not lavine but that level), i could see us paying each team a future 1st.

not sure if this works but something like gobert to atl, russ/pick to okc, capela/THT/nunn/pick to utah, collins/green/favors to us.

again, unrealistic (and would have to happen like yesterday) but that sort of thing is the only way i see picks going out with russ.

I'm with you here. I can't see a move that used a pick just to get off of Russ because, well, its just dumb IMO and I can't recall a team ever doing that with a large expiring. lol

But yeah, if some crazy blockbuster emerged where we got a a true young talent and some solid role players, then yeah, I can see us throwing in the pick to make it happen. And you know, it wouldn't be the first time this team has pulled a star out of nowhere so who knows. Hope springs eternal or whatever cliche we want to use right now.
