Just speaking from the information I've seen: I also just think we can do better irrespective of role (big or small).

But Westbrook did impress you and was a disaster. Bradley impressed you and was horrific (look at analytics for proof)...

And now Fiz didn't impress you because you took a small 6 game sample size where the process looked better in spurts for the offense and we were seeing progress?

    Got it.

Good time to be a Laker fan. We are going to get to watch a brand of basketball that doesn't burn your eyes out. Young guys working hard and getting the playing time they deserve. We will be competitive.

Listening to SS&R pod tonight. Some interesting Handy nuggets...

-Handy will be given a larger role this year. Before a couple days ago, it was still up in the air of whether he'd come back. He was not happy he didn't at least get an interview for the HC job. He needs the larger role to prove to teams he's more than just a developmental guy and sounds like he leveraged himself into one. His relationship with Bron and Ham were big factors in his return. I don't think it was an issue for Ham to give Handy a bigger role. Based on his presser, sounds like he wants all his assistants to do a little of everything.

    - Lakers think highly of him. According to Aaron, it was Handy that was going to fill in for Vogel when Vogel had covid until Handy contracted it too. Also when Vogel was coaching for his life, if he was going to get fired it was going to be Handy who was tapped to take over for him, not Fiz.

I know that’s what you want to happen, but I still see us getting a ton of vets in and trying to go for one more ring. Lebron will push for it.

I'm all for getting vets in and developing young guys at the same time. Easy to do both. I'm hoping they wised up to letting Lebron pick the players though. Hopefully Lebron realizes he will be better off letting Rob do Rob's job. Ham is here to save Lebron from himself and get him another championship. Lebron the player top ten of all time, Lebron the GM ranks down there with MJ and Isiah Thomas.

I was rooting for Westbrook to do well here, certainly. There was a stretch of games in which he did play well. But overall he got much worse over time here and so did his attitude. By the end I wanted him gone. Bradley I liked for the fact that he actually tried on defense unlike most of our players until the addition of Stanley Johnson. Bradley panned out a lot better than many here such as Bazemore and Ellington who played the same position. No I wasn’t impressed with Fiz but apparently Ham wasn’t either. Kind of a moot point since he’s been canned. Anyway I kind of feel like you are trying to fight with me right now, which I don’t really get. But ok.

I agree with you there. Our scouts have done a phenomenal job finding young talent and we’ve done a pretty decent job developing a few nice young players, would be wonderful for that to continue.

The best teams in this league can do both, develop young players and sign/recruit vets. Golden State and San Antonio are both success stories here whereas someone like the Knicks or Minnesota are at the opposite end of the spectrum.

Yes, but he was really meaning to go with a different approach, the way he said it. I don't think we will see the same type of team at all. We may get a couple of vets which I agree with, but the main point is that I believe they learned from their mistakes last season, judging by what they have been saying and doing

Rob is the king of over correcting. At this point it wouldn’t shock me if we surround our big 3 with undrafted rookies and G league players to get younger.

On the entirety of last season, which one one big "we need shooters and ballhandlers to relieve Bron" overcorrection?
