y'know how if we use the word (SellTick) C bag it turns it into something else?

I think we should do the same thing with the word "stan"

That seems poll worthy on what the replacement word should be. Then you could say it without saying it, and keep things light hearted around here.

    "diehard fan"
    "extremely positive fan"
    "guardian angel"
    "fanclub president"
    etc, etc, etc.

So the Lakers praise Ham no nonsense approach. Does that mean that he will bench westbrick or use him as a 6th man

Stein speculates that Lebron and AD want Westbrook traded.

hmmm..."reports"? he very clearly qualified it as speculation held by people outside of the lakers about the lakers. he may be right, but that's not a report.

I don't think the flashlight shines as bright on a 3rd and 4th guy when neither are household names with built in expectations. AND/OR the flashlight might be more forgiving if it means Russ is long gone.

If Oubre is involved, I want 3 guys back. Only 2 player deal from Charlotte I'll take is Rozier and GH. Oubre is really dumb, but my hopes with him is Ham and (hopefully a retained) Handy can get the most out of him and turn him into a homeless man's Wiggins.

It's speculation, but is a fair assumption to make based on Bron's push at the deadline. My speculation is that AD doesn't have a stance other than do whatever Bron tells him to do, unless it's regarding hiring Penberthy and only then will he throw his weight around. And maybe...hopefully Stein knows this but doesn't have substantiated sources on it so will only run with it as "speculation" at this point. He covered us on the 3-peat and it's been confirmed he still has friends in the organization. That plus the quality and respectability of his reporting is why I trust him more than most of the other national reporters with his pieces.

You make a good point about the 3rd/4th guy not getting as much spotlight. But I don’t agree with it. It’s exactly what happened with Danny Green in the bubble season with fans threatening his family, KCP the few years before that, Schroeder last year and Bazemore this season. The fans see someone underperform and turn on them and it breaks their confidence and leads to spiralling. I think both Rozier and Oubre are prime candidates to break under the spotlight. Both have had similar breakdowns at the C Bags and GSW.

If Kerr and some of the best coaching staff in the NBA over at GSW couldn’t make Oubre work, then it’s folly to think Ham and our coaching staff could.

Oubre is who he is and is mainly factored in for salary reasons. I’m not hung up on him.

I will gladly take him over Trevor or the other old guys though.

We were literally grabbing guys who were almost out of the league and the team showed improvement. I’ll say it again, We need nba caliber guys who can get up and down the floor without making us wince or shake our heads in disgust.

I'm probably one of the few people who wouldn't mind RW back. With the new coaching/system changes & roster tweaks, you never know.

Playing with maximum effort all the time means both sides of the ball Barkley and there’s no way in hell that Russ played with that effort on defense.

I used to like and respect Russ. Then last season happened and I don’t any more.

I thought the pundits had a point being skeptical about his fit here but I also thought he’d put in the effort to prove them wrong. He went the opposite way in my opinion and just dug his heels in deeper refusing or just being incapable of changing for the team’s sake.

His defensiveness about everything throughout the season and afterwards was a very bad sign to me. I don’t see him turning it around and fitting that well even with a healthy AD and Lebron. But who knows?

    Okay Chuck.
There’s something wrong with us fans who don’t respect or admire a player who outright refuses to play defense?
    Got it.
Keep praising those hollow stats and a career that winds up winning nothing. We completely understand why you would back him.

How is our new staff going to help him finish at the rim better?
How is our new staff going to turn back the clock and magically get his explosiveness back?
How is the new staff going to turn his three point shot into a respectable one in a couple short months?
How is the new staff going to change his thought process before making a terrible pass?
How is the new staff going to FORCE him to play real team defense, every night?
How is the new staff going to completely change Russ’ massive ego into one that puts the team first?
How is the new staff going to FORCE him to stop camping in the paint on D in order to pad his stats?
How is the new staff going to change him into a thicker skinned person when the crowd starts getting on him again?
Russ is who he is. The dude is as hard headed as they come. He is not going to change and we have an entire season of evidence to prove this.

my thoughts exactly. i was a russ defender for many years, but last year was just really rough to witness. guy's just not about winning. he's about competing, but it's about him, not the team. period. just really disappointing.
