Chuck is clueless. I think he still thinks he's coming back to support Michael Jordan in his comeback. Newsflash: You're old now Charles.

Chuck still has a grudge that the Lakers didn't trade for him? I have to dig it up, I remember him talking once, about thinking that he was getting traded to the Lakers, but the deal fell through or something.

Chuck is saying the because he has no idea how old Ham is. He does zero research. He's entertaining and they're a better crew than anything ESPN has to offer, but he is clueless.

This is irrelevant, unfortunately. We hired Ham to have continuity when Bron finally decides to move on. Until then, the offense is going to be Brick chucking or Bron pounding the ball for 20 seconds to get into a rhythm to shoot his step away 3.

Now, if we trade the 47mil piece of crap moron, when Bron sits, we might see some of that... but I wouldn't hold my breath.

I think that Coach Ham will be good for the young players development. We will finally know if THT is going to make that next level jump. Reaves will explode even more under Ham and Gabriel will just keep getting better. McClung plays bigger than he is and with tremendous confidence. He will be an over achiever. Even Huff has some potential as a rim protector. Despite how old we were last year we have some young potential. Good news for the young potential is we have a coach that has time to use and develop them without fear of being fired. I think the Laker front office wants to change their image of meddling with coaching decisions so Ham is going to have a free hand. He is in a great spot. Last year was such an apparition that we have to be much better. We make the playoffs and aren't so hard on the eyes he is labeled a huge success. Lebron and AD turn out to stay healthy and we contend he is coach of the year. We end up keeping Russ and he does something with him he will jump to immediate hall of fame status...lol

Barkley making a completely irrelevant point. Adding and subtraction is not his thing. Or shoe tying.

i think barkley was just trying to say that young coaches can't work with old teams, and that does seem to be conventional wisdom. but i'm not sure that's true. i think it's just not tried often for the reason barkley makes fun of it--power dynamics. but the fact is a coach of any age/experience is at lebron's (and, sadly, russ's) mercy anyway, so might as well give someone with a fresh perspective a chance, imo.

They should be IMO. If that's at least end of the bench we're doing OK. Gabriel ought to be able to be a good rotation piece if he keeps working and improving. McClung is an over achiever and driven to succeed. Has supreme athleticism and improved his skills well over the course of last season's G league. Decent handles getting better, work on his 3 point shot and he's probably already better on defense than Cook was in our Bubble run. Really rooting for him .... could be a great story and become a fan favorite off the bench if he can pull it off.

I hope he replaces Fiz. I wonder how much cash we will be willing to spend on the rest of his staff.

I took Chuck’s comments to solely be a shot on our roster, not Ham.

I don’t think he was saying that Ham is too young to get the respect of the players… moreso that if many of your rotation players are old enough to almost be coaches themselves, then your roster is too old to compete and so it doesn’t matter who the coach is.

Although that’s still a dumb point considering that aside from Bron/AD/Russ, we pretty much only have a few young players still under contract.

yeah, we could easily show up with one of the league's younger rosters next year.

Chuck just says things you know? Like I don’t think he really prepares or looks to deeply into anything. He uses some conventional wisdom here or there and just blurts stuff out.
