There's definitely guys who can do better with that roster, even Gentry who will probably slide over a seat. But once the new wears off again, they'll drop again. Flipping coaches is the quickest and easiest move but doesn't fix over a decade of bad front office personnel.
you think that's a .500 roster in the west with jesus himself coaching? sure, as you said, there will be a honeymoon effect with anyone. but this team isn't a playoff team, period.
Just looking at the box scores without knowing details about games they gave away, they should've beat OKC. I think it's more so that he lost the locker room and confidence from the front office. He wasn't the selection from this regime and they want their guy in there ultimately. I think Gentry or another vet coach can get Bagley to enter the game and that not be a vital clip. I don't think Luke is a bad coach, but he shouldn't be coaching a team consistently in the hunt for the #1 draft pick and shouldn't be coaching a team with championship expectations.
man...if this is about bagley's lame a**... whatever, though. i'm not a luke fanboy. i just know sacramento does the wrong thing always. hiring luke. firing luke. drafting bagley. firing coach for not playing bagley. you can't wash the kings off the kings. how many years of salary do they owe walton? what's their record going to be? what's bagley's value going to be to that franchise? just glad i'm not a sac fan. those few years at the turn of the century must have been the ultimate tease.
I mean, I think Jesus could get them to .500. He saved the entire world. Pretty sure he can save a basketball team.
