Because he's the best possible option for us. I think they need to lose this series for there to be a chance he's let go.

don't see how they lose with luka out/at half speed. that said, if they get blasted by phx (quite likely), i could see them parting ways in sort of a "gotta do something/run its course" situation.

That ain't going to cut it. They're already down Clint. It's a sweep at this rate.

F***, Boston won game 1 at the buzzer. We really, really missed out not drafting Tatum.

I hate Boston. Will never root for them. But it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if they sent the Nets home early. Ideally Boston, Nets, and 6ers are all at home as soon as possible.

I agree. Tatum is a bad man. Still think that Kobe meant enough to him that he'll find his way here at some point.

I forget the seeding, but I think Boston would beat the Sixers, and I don’t know where that puts them, conference finals or semis. But I don’t want them getting that far and having a chance at sneaking into the Finals. So I want them out first, then the Bucks hopefully take care of the rest.

ball over tatum was just...rough in retrospect. in fairness, i wasn't that high on either at draft time and really wanted the lakers to trade down or out. i thought tatum was rudy gay; didn't see his ballhandling improving the way it did. that's not that common.

i actually like the current version of the C Bags. just sucks they're the C Bags and all. but tatum, brown, even smart--they play hard and play together (didn't early in the year, but fixed it). SA did them a huge solid delivering derrick white, too. fits right in.

the top four in the east is a real crapshoot, imo. very evenly matched teams. i actually think toronto would have been in that mix, too, if not for injuries.

i'm of the general opinion that young is overrated, but i think he looked hurt out there, too. what you're seeing in game 1 of that series is defense pounding offense, though. just lowry and tucker and butler and adebayo bulldogging the hawks out of their finesse game.

I don't think Trae is overrated, but the Heat play some tight D, and it's clear that the gameplan is to smother Trae and make the other guys beat you. Heat in 5, possibly a sweep.

C Bags turned it around during the season by - ARE YOU READING THIS, JEANNIE? - playing killer DEFENSE.

yeah, watching teams just smother the opposition in several game 1s has me angry that we just abandoned ship on the philosophy.

Got it. Yea, I don't want anyone LeBron wants (Juwan Howard?). He should have ZERO say in any personnel decisions from here on out.
Not crazy about Doc Rivers. Not enamored of Lue. Please don't even mention Mark Jackson. And isn't Nick Nurse embedded with a lot of the people who screwed up the org in the first place (KLUTCH)?

Then again, who really wants this job now? Thanks, Jeannie, Rambii, and Pelinka: we're becoming the Knicks.

I really didn't like the Ball pick. I thought he was overrated, couldn't shoot, and wanted no part of his dad being involved with the team. Didn't think he was the next Nash/Kidd/ Magic. I felt like most LA based fans were way too high on him because he's a LA kid and played with UCLA. I wanted to move it and in that draft I really liked Josh Jackson's profile (not at #2 though). Also definitely didn't see Tatum becoming THIS good.

Agreed. It's a shame this roster isn't the Magic or Thunder (or any other irrelevant team). Those 3 and even Horford (if you aren't factoring in $) are likeable players on any other team.

I think overall he's overrated and Mavs lucked out they were able to get Luka. But I do think that his big games don't get enough attention (maybe it's an Atlanta thing). When he's on, he's one of the best scorers in the game. But the inconsistency and fact that he doesn't bring much else to the table him in the overrated category. In this series, don't know whether he's hurt or just exhausted at this point in the year, he doesn't look right though. Heat are throwing the sink at him, still his movements and body language looked off.

As far as the C Bags go, yes, I like the guys on the team quite a bit, but I cannot root for them in those jerseys, so, go Nets.

Trae Young, not a fan of his game (the curry deep threes, the James Harden level grifting), but he’s pretty damn good. Averages 28 and 10, put up 32 in the 2nd half of the game to win the play-in.

Also, watching the Bulls game, as much as many of us have lamented not getting DeRozan in the off-season, he’s having his typical playoff game, 5-19 shooting for 14 points through 3. That helps a little, I forget how little he does in the playoffs.

Caruso got Giannis’ 4th and 5th fouls getting him offensive fouls, just giving him fits, gonna see him in his nightmares :D Man I miss this dude, he’s just everywhere right now getting steals and offensive fouls, keeping the Bulls in it.

He kept them in it for sure, if the Bulls could score they could have won. DeRozan 6-25 shooting 18 points, LaVine 6-19 18 points, Vucevic 9-27 missing gimmes. Caruso though…

I’ve been told role players aren’t that important though.
