I’ll respect others posts and opinions on here

But I’m not seeing the same game as Westbrick apologists.

I’ve been on game time chat for most of the games this season and there was countless memories of Russ in my opinion, where he eliminated our chances to win games on multiple occasions. By taking a low IQ out of rhythm shots in crucial moments when others needed a heat check.

Once you joined the team as a 44m dollar player, you suit up and get on board.

It’s a done deal, if you didn’t want to buy into the system that should’ve been discussed through the back door before the trade. Which we all know happens.

1st day of training camp and you're going against the coach's system without giving it a chance> scapegoating constantly rather than taking responsibility? We're LAker Fans not some bum bandwagon heat or warriors fan that just got the majority player base within the past decade.

LA doesn’t hate him just because of his atrocious worse than rec league effort and play.

We hate his attitude and nasty personality. Dudes from LA and he’s bullying reporters? This dude has maturity issues and it seems like he just wants to surround himself with yes men.

Russ ruined our season here and he has no place wearing our purple and gold. Getting into passive aggressive fights with the coaching staff/players and getting his way was more of a priority to him. Half assing plays and turning it over then blaming it on “it’s not my role” is atrocious and hes not fooling anyone but his own apologist fans.

All of a sudden you can’t make a pick and roll pass? Monk ran the pick and roll better than Russ this entire season. I don’t believe that a HOFer suddenly can’t read simple passing lanes, this was a deliberate half a** effort.

The man should be blessed he ever donned our jersey as a star.

As for our other players saying he’s great. Well We’re not going to get rid of him by saying he’s a cancer to the team.

Whether it’s true or they’re saying it to help trade him is irrelevant. Russ lost too much value and we have no leverage (as everyone knows we want to get rid of him)

Edit: some what poorly improved the atrocious grammar with a couple additions, I apologize I was pooping.

Injuries ruined the season. If the same thing happens next season, that one is going to be ruined too.

I try..this thread has generated more comments over the last hour, than every other thread on the board has all day. Perhaps you should start a "Who should we trade Westbrook for?" thread...that should be a lively one.

No, I'm waiting until his situation his resolved.

He might still be here next year with this incompetent FO we have...

When he's resolved, I'll have something special planned.

    :).

Anyone who claims Russ isn’t a stat stuffing, me-first, air headed, washed up, cancerous, loser of a player just likes to argue the contrary.
Keep telling yourself he’s great, and I will continue laughing.

I like when abeer, pika, nik and some others post here. They’ve got a different point of view and come with good arguments. A lot of the other stuff in this thread is just name calling and meme posting.

I’m not a Westbrook stan. This is my view point - clear and simple.

Westbrook had a bad season, a lot of that blame is on him. A certain amount of that blame is also on the coaching staff that didn’t get the most out of him. Nor did they put him in positions where a talented but flawed player like him could of excelled.

In my opinion he is still better than what we traded for him and our best chances of success this year was utilising him correctly. But we didn’t so the season is over.

Moving forward, if we can get a good trade package for him, we should do it. But I don’t want to take on injury prone players with long term contracts or other peoples junk. All that’s going to do is fully close the window on our championship aspirations with Lebron and AD.

Instead, we can just let Russ expire in a season if we don’t get what we want from a trade package. And then use that 47 million to sign 2-3 high quality role players. It’s only a year away.

The reason why I’m posting on how to make a team up with Russ for next season is because I don’t believe we’ll get any good trade package that we SHOULD take. And I still want to be competitive next year regardless if he is here or not.

In saying that, our fan base (as evidenced by this forum) which is highly emotionally charged will capitulate our front office and we’ll end up trading Russ, along with picks and or young players for some average return. Rob knows his a** is on the line and he’ll pull something extreme like he does every off season.

Once again we will have no continuity, but everyone can rest easy knowing you can watch Oubre forget how to shoot and defend like he did in Golden State as Hayward cheers us on from the bench while he is rehabbing his 5th injury of the season. Or better yet, we can pay some picks to watch Wall suit up for 8 games in which he shoots worse than Russ before his lower body blows up from injuries.

All in all I think letting Russ expire is better long term and short term - unless we get a good trade return (which I don’t see why we would). After all at least we know Russ will be healthy to play some games.

Westbrick could have been a man and taken responsibility for his actions in the exit interview. Instead, he placed the blame on everyone else. That’s cowardice. The guy just doesn’t get it. He would have gained some respect from the basketball world if he would have just admitted to the fact that he played a huge part in this colossal failure of a season.

i just don't see a path to starting a season with westbrook on the roster. it would be different if anything he said or did in the past year indicated he was interested in changing his style of play. but he just doubles and triples down on it. i'm sorry--it just hasn't been successful for a while now. adapt or become extinct, and he's well on the way to the latter.

i don't like oubre/hayward, either, but at least i wouldn't know we were doomed from the start. and i'd know our new coach could bench them if they sucked without it causing everything to crumble.

i'm just incredibly disappointed in westbrook. i thought he was better than this. him basically claiming everyone needed to conform to him at his current ability level in his post-season press conference just cemented it further: he doesn't live in reality.

Honestly, this is how I feel right now. I know what we get with Russ, and it's a disaster, and it could only get worse next year. I simply can't stand watching those random shots off the glass that hit the top of the backboard, long jumpers that don't even reach the rim, and the passes that just go out of bounds for absolutely no reason. I just can't watch that anymore. I mean, I already had to resort to radio in the second half of the season, and it would not even be radio for me next season.

At least with new players I'd have hope that they can fit better. Heck, almost any decent player who plays defense and can sort of shoot would fit better than him.

Just a reminder, calling people stans, homers, fanboys, jockers, etc is against the rules here. Argue the point or ignore. Attack the post not the poster. Everyone is entitled to their own takes.
