That makes sense. I'm sure they thought Russ will be able to carry the team while they dealt with any injuries.

the hornets trade ideas has me scouring the league for bad contracts that are smaller than russ's:

randle (already discussed, ny supposedly nixed, but things change)
tim hardaway jr (hard to find other salaries in dallas to make it work, but bertans/thj does work, as i think i mentioned a few pages back somewhere)
brogdon (hield and brogdon wipes their slate pretty clean, and tbh, russ may give them a year's worth of fan interest)
eric gordon (same problem as thj)
    eric bledsoe (same as gordon/thj)
bojan bogdanovic (utah only has conley to help match, and that guts them--don't see them thinking russ can play there)
joe harris (bkn's not dumb and doesn't need salary relief)

so, ny (randle/fournier), charlotte (hayward/rozier), and dallas (thj/bertans) all seem the most realistic on paper, with indy being similarly possible if we hadn't royally pissed off pritchard a couple years ago. maybe he'll get fired and we can deal with them?

At least he's aware that he's missing one he shouldn't. I didn't think he had that level of self awareness. Maybe contacts or Lasix?

And that's his version of fitting in?

This is what Frank had to deal with this year.

When the guy who brought you here loses faith in you, I can see how Bron can lose his teammates. We were in this mess because of him and failed promises that Bron couldn't get Russ to live up to.

It sounds true if you hear Russ speak throughout the season. Saying he needed to adapt to a different way of play and all that.

The more I hear from him, the more I hate him

    From Ramona's ESPN piece

That's kind of been my thought on a buy out. I see no reason for him to take one. He'd rather sit at home, gets his $, and takes the kids to school every day. We have to trade him or sit in him, but he can't play here and he's not going to do us any favors on a buyout.

That's where I miss the leadership of Rondo and Dudz. They'll have that direct convo. Bron isn't that kind of leader. AD definitely isn't either.

    Bad idea.

It’s an interesting piece, but I also feel like this is kind of true. I feel almost like Kurt Rambis was the source. Frank was saying to let Reaves bring the ball up? In training camp? Hmmm I don’t know about that one buddy

Not sure it was Kurt or we would've heard that more DJ was the key to all this. Maybe Linda, though.

Not a good look that we have two games left and the floodgates are already this wide open with both the Times article and Ramona's piece. Whole lot of finger pointing ahead this summer

It’s not his hands- it’s his pi$$ poor me first attitude mixed with his second grade level basketball IQ.

It’d just an odd way to go about it, making it so obvious. I mean, again…

I want the Russ stuff to make more sense and be air tight so his stans don’t have any room to defend him is all.

They can point their guilty little fingers all they want. We all know they took a Championship Team and completely destroyed it in two short seasons. Rob, Jeanie, the Rambii and LeGM can’t hide from the facts.

    AD did say this though.

Maybe he didn't mention names but essentially anyone but AD/DJ.

God damn: I thought I couldn't hate him even more (as a basketball player, maybe a fine person off the court but damn do I hate his game and basketball attitude)

Buried in all the finger pointing is the additional nugget that Rob also wanted Russ.

my issue all year. just bs.

it makes sense when your brand new acquisition pushed back immediately.

i missed the documentation of this fact. again, rob tried to trade for hield and got submarined, from my vantage point.
