might have been me, but it's a matter of time for high flyers. all of them get hurt. ja also doesn't shy away from contact a la iverson, which leads to long-term wear and tear. enjoy him while you can! one thing that helps is that he's light. people want to know why AD's ankle sprains are worse--he weighs 80lbs more and still moves quickly/jumps high. that's a lot more force on the joint. it's why shaq's prime was relatively short for an all-timer and zion's may not exist.
It's been a long time coming, but Zach Collins seems poised to fulfil some of that promise I (and clearly SAC) saw in him when he was drafted. Over his last 7 games, he's at 54% FGs, 11.3 points, 6.7 boards. He's got 33 points and 22 rebounds in his last two games. Nice to see him getting some healthy run.
Really? He just played the worst month of basketball he's had in years. He's at 18 points, 7 dimes per game, his second best VORP season, his second best WS season, and he's played more than 2000 minutes for the third time in his career. Weird flex.

i'd like to complain about the play-in again. minnesota is 8 games better than the 8-seed clippers and 10 games better than the other two play-in teams. how should it be fair that they could miss the playoffs by losing two games. why should the 7 seed even be up for grabs with that kind of difference? there needs to be a record-discrepancy trigger on the play-in. otherwise, a team like minnesota, who was MUCH better throughout the season, just gets their regular season completely thrown out. they shouldn't even be able to drop a spot. that's the difference between drawing first-time playoff team grizzlies and drawing the team that just mopped up the league for an entire season and went to the finals last year. all because, say, marcus morris goes nuts from three for one game or something. just terrible.
The play in worked for the bubble because of the weird season… and it was also a bit different as well. It “worked” last year because Lakers and Warriors drew attention. This year its bad and hopefully they tweak it. in the bubble it was just the 8th seed up for grabs and you had to be within a certain range record wise to be considered. We should go back to that. I’d like to also add at least being above .500 but thats less likely
Agree with this, thought the same this morning. Game difference is a must. I think there's benefits, it's an extra element of excitement and teams in #9 to #11 or 12 remain competitive longer, so I think the play-in came to stay. Especially because it's also some extra games so extra revenues. Just needs some tweaks. I think the Wolves still make it. Don't see any of Pels/Spurs beating them, but yeah is just one game, and if they lose the 1st they get a season ending matchup with the best team in the league. On the other side I see Cavs missing it, even with Mobley and Allen coming back. They are only 2.5 games away of the 10th seed, but also only 9 of the #1
i forgot that the initial version DID have a range restriction! why would you dump that when you made it permanent?! anyway, no, i don't see minny losing both, but it could happen. i mean, teams lose a couple games to inferior teams all the time. the argument that that means they weren't good enough is silly, imo. you're just devaluing the regular season games even more. again, reggie jackson has his one stellar game in 5, and now you're facing the suns at best! i'd be super pissed.
Yeah, a 34-win team wins a head-to-head with a 45-win team, and the 34-win team gets the nod? It's also worth adding that Minnesota has clinched the season series against the Spurs. Bizarre stuff.
