Yeah but...we sucked at rebuilding until we finally signed Lebron tho. He's 38 next year.

I don't see anybody trading us a player that can either. I'd rather keep AD and trade Lebron if possible. That's unrealistic too, so I'd keep AD and build around him.

Yeah I remember what a great fan of the “team” you were during those non playoff years. LOL. One of 2 or 3 guys here who b****ed absolutely the most.

This will be us every year, it just is what it is now, I can’t see him ever being fully healthy again. It’s why I said, as much as I love the dude, and as much as I know how good he is, I would personally move on. And as good as he still is he has a cap now too, you don’t see him putting up 40 point games, Giannis-like games anymore like he was in his mvp caliber season, he has a great game and gets to 28 and then he’s shot. *shrug*

he's just broken. really sad to see because at 100% he's easily a top 10, maybe even top 5 player in this league

i just can't envision him staying healthy for a full season again

facts. the scoring is hiding the fact that teams really aren't that afraid of his scoring. they don't send doubles, just imagine he's unlikely to score 50 and beat you by himself. on the other end, they're deliberately attacking him. he's closer to post-achilles kobe than prime lebron, imo. he's definitely not even 2020 lebron.

as for AD being "broken", i continue to disagree. he came back too early (AGAIN) from injury to combat the "he's broken" narrative, puts up 28p/9r/8a/3b/2s on one leg, and people complain. the lesson is he shouldn't listen to these people, and for some reason, he hasn't gotten that.

btw, is kevin durant "broken"? because i bet everyone here would trade AD for him (i wouldn't). what about steph curry? is he reliable enough to be your primary star?

last year it was lillard that we should trade him for (how's that going?).

you're not getting giannis/jokic/luka, and you probably shouldn't move him for anyone else, as he's our only shot at a 1a star.

not worth it. some folks just love complaining i think. and yeah, i remember how positive this place was when ingram and russell were our best players. just a fun place.

exactly. we're risking a lot for very little in return. lebron's not, though, which is crazy. the cue for AD to sit is lebron sitting. our only chance to be good for the next few years is if AD is healthy. if he's not, we can't trade him for anything that will make us good anyway.

we need to a) build teams that suit his strengths and b) treat him like other teams treat star bigs (with strategic rest and caps on minutes).

can't stress enough how much the westbrook trade hurts those plans, though.

I rather watch AD play 40 games a year, than trade him for some freakin "scrub package". Leave my man alone.

and again--we don't own our picks for three years. there's nothing to be gained by being bad/tearing it down.

I can't complain about the AD trade, the pick swaps are irrelevant to me, we still get a first round pick that year regardless. We traded a 1st rd pick for Dennis and again for Russ, so I'm not sure the team values these picks as much as we fans do. We basically picked up Talen and Austin in the place of the picks we traded..not bad for a late pick anyway. Now this year does bite, but injuries are the wild card in this game. I'm pretty confident that we will find another young prospect this offseason too. We most definitely need a healthy AD moving forward, but a Championship was well worth the risk.

His detractors here will find something wrong even with those quotes and it’s a joke. Simple bad luck and like he said those two injuries would have taken anyone down. That ankle rolled damn near 90 degrees with all that weight on it and his leg was planted with a big player tossed into it to hyper extend it in a direction it wasn’t meant to bend, like happened to Bynum twice.

    i'll reiterate my recent posts:

d****** fan reaction to his injuries is having the causal impact of creating more injuries. yes, he needs to stop listening. he says he stopped listening, but it's very clear that he's playing right now because of the haters. like, specifically to shut dweebs up. this is bad. fans are supposed to help the team via support, not help manufacture the largest problems.

also in full agreement with the contention that his injuries from last year worried me, and this year's really don't. totally different. non-contact, random injuries are much more concerning for long-term health. when he just had achilles/calf soreness, i was very nervous. when he lands on a guy's foot or has someone roll up on his knee, that's no big deal...UNLESS you play on it more!

anyway, if we had real leadership in the organization, they'd sit him against his will and make sure the public knew they were doing it.
